Miguel Atilio Boccadoro Hernández (26 April 1951 – 27 January 2022), known professionally as Diego Verdaguer (, was an Argentine-born Mexican singer. Biography Verdaguer played the trumpet and the bandoneón. He was married to the singer Amanda Miguel. His most famous songs are " Volveré", "Corazón de Papel", "Usted Qué Haría", and "La Ladrona". He had a hit in 2009 after a decade of absence with the song "Voy a Conquistarte", written by the Mexican singer-songwriter Joan Sebastián. He had lifetime sales of almost 20 million records. Verdaguer was born in Buenos Aires on 26 April 1951, and lived in Mexico from 1980 onwards. He died from COVID-19 in Los Angeles, on 27 January 2022, at the age of 70. Dionís Baixeras i Verdaguer (1862–1943) was a naturalist Spanish artist from Barcelona, who specialized in oil on canvas and was noted for his realistic and detailed Orientalist and everyday life scenes. Early life Baixeras was born in Barcelona in 1862. Career Baixeras began studying at an early age at the La Lonja School of Fine Arts, where he was a pupil of Catalan painters such as Agustín Rigalt (1836-1899), Martí Alsina (1826-1894) and Antonio Caba (1838-1907). He and his brothers, Juan and Jose Llimonas, were members of a group, which included painters and sculptors, known as the Cercle Artístic de Sant Lluc (Artistic Circle of San Lluc); an arts society formed in Barcelona in the early 1890s by brothers, Joan Llimona and Josep Llimona; Antoni Utrillo, Alexandre de Riquer and a group of artists who were followers of bishop Josep Torras i Bages. Jacint Verdaguer i Santaló (; 17 May 1845 – 10 June 1902) was a Catalan writer, regarded as one of the greatest poets of Catalan literature and a prominent literary figure of the Renaixença, a cultural revival movement of the late Romantic era. The bishop Josep Torras i Bages, one of the main figures of Catalan nationalism, called him the "Prince of Catalan poets". Verdaguer is a station in the Barcelona metro network located near Plaça de Mossèn Jacint Verdaguer, in the Eixample district. It is an important interchange station between Line 4 and Line 5. Since 2024, Verdaguer is also a Tram stop. It was opened as part of the tram network's Diagonal extension and is served by line T4. It is the line's current terminus. Location The station is located in the vicinity of the Plaça de Mossèn Jacint Verdaguer, in the Dreta de l'Eixample neighborhood of the Eixample district. The Verdaguer House Museum () is a literary museum in Folgueroles, birthplace of poet Jacint Verdaguer, in the region of Osona. It was opened in 1967 and is part of the Barcelona Provincial Council Local Museum Network. Building The Verdaguer House Museum is located in a 17th-century house occupied by Josep Verdaguer and his wife, Josepa Santaló, (parents of Jacint Verdaguer) between 1841 and 1847, when the poet was two years old.
