Verbandsliga Hessen-Süd
The Verbandsliga Hessen-Süd, until 2008 named ''Landesliga Hessen-Süd'', is currently the sixth tier of the German football league system. Before the introduction of the Regionalligas in 1994, the "Verbandsliga Hessen-S" served as the fourth tier of the German league system in the southern part of the state of Hesse. The league also served as the fifth tier of the league system before the introduction of the 3. Liga in 2008 Overview The Verbandsliga Hessen-Süd was formed in 1965 as the ''Landesliga Hessen-Süd'', a tier four feeder league to the then ''Amateurliga Hessen''. SC Viktoria 06 Griesheim
SC Viktoria 06 Griesheim is a German football club based in Griesheim, Hesse. History Founded in 1906 the club enjoyed some of its best seasons through the 70s and 80s. In 1973 they advanced to the Landesliga Hessen-Süd (IV) and in their fourth season of play there emerged as champions to earn promotion to the Oberliga Hessen (III). Three seasons later in 1980–81, ''Viktoria Griesheim'' claimed the championship in that division, in a year when no promotion places were available to the Oberliga champions. That was the pinnacle as the club's achievement as they began a slide that led to an 18th-place finish and relegation in 1988. ''Griesheim'' returned to the Oberliga for a single season appearances in 1991 and 2004, but both campaigns also ended in a last place finish and relegation. SpVgg 03 Neu-Isenburg is a Football in Germany, German association football club from the city of Neu-Isenburg, Hesse. The roots of the club are in the founding of Freispielclub Neu-Isenburg on 13 June 1903. Over the next three-and-a-half decades, the association went through mergers with a number of other local clubs. FC Hanau 93 is a German association football club based in Hanau, Hesse. History Early history Founded in 1893, the club is Hesse's oldest. In its first year, the club was winless in a half dozen matches, but the next season emerged as south German champion and earned an appearance in a national championship match. SV Wiesbaden is a German football club based in Wiesbaden, Hesse. The team was disbanded in 1994 as the result of financial problems, but was rebuilt and eventually returned to the Hessenliga (V). Their home games are played in the Helmut-Schön-Sportpark. History A football section was founded within the gymnastics club ''Wiesbadener Turngesellschaft'' in 1899. In 1904 the footballers left the club and founded the ''Sportverein Wiesbaden 1899''. In its early years ''SVW'' was one of the strongest teams in the Taunus region and sent Otto Nicodemus to the national side in 1909 for his only cap. SG Germania Wiesbaden is a German association football club from the city of Wiesbaden in Hesse. The club's two most notable achievement came when it won the tier-one Kreisliga Hessen in 1920 and, almost 50 years later, reached as the Germany's second division for one season in 1966–67. Eintracht Frankfurt II is the reserve team of Eintracht Frankfurt. Formerly known as ''Eintracht Frankfurt Amateure'' (Amateurs) until 2005 the team played as U23 (Under 23) to emphasize the character of the team as a link between youth academy and pro team. FV Bad Vilbel is a German football club from Bad Vilbel, near Frankfurt, Hesse. Founded on 30 March 1919 as ''SV 1919 Bad Vilbel'', they merged with ''FG Phönix Bad Vilbel'' in 1933 to become ''FC Phönix Bad Vilbel'' and were re-established under their current name after World War II. FC Viktoria 09 Urberach is a Football in Germany, German association football club from the city of Rödermark, Hesse. History The club was formed on 24 December 1909 but only entered competitive football in 1914.
