Velódromo Paulistano, commonly known as just Velódromo, was a cycling and football stadium located in São Paulo, Brazil. It was the home stadium of Americano, Paulistano and Scottish Wanderers. It was owned by Veloce Club Olimpic Paulista and it had a maximum capacity of 10,000 people. After being reformed as a football stadium, it was operated by Club Athletico Paulistano. Track cycling is a Cycle sport, bicycle racing sport usually held on specially built banked tracks or velodromes using purpose-designed track bicycles. Club Athletico Paulistano –generally known as just Paulistano– is a sports club, sports and social club from the Brazilian metropolis São Paulo located in the quarter of Jardins, Jardim América, close to the city. Sport Club Americano, commonly known as Americano, was a Brazilian football club from São Paulo, São Paulo state. They won the Campeonato Paulista twice. History The club was founded on May 21, 1903 in Santos. However, in 1908 moved from Santos to São Paulo due to the difficulties in climbing Serra do Mar to play the regional tournament games in São Paulo. São Paulo Athletic Club - officially nowadays Clube Atlético São Paulo, but generally referred to as SPAC, is a Brazilian sports club founded on 13 May 1888 by Charles William Miller, Algernon Francis Egert and several English immigrants, being one of the first association football clubs in the South-American country.
