Vaughan ( ) (2022 population 344,412) is a city in Ontario, Canada. It is located in the Regional Municipality of York, just north of Toronto. Vaughan was the fastest-growing municipality in Canada between 1996 and 2006 with its population increasing by 80.2% during this time period and having nearly doubled in population since 1991. In 2021, the population of Vaughan was 323,103. It is the fifth-largest city in the Greater Toronto Area, and the List of the largest municipalities in Canada by population, 17th-largest city in Canada. Mario Ferri
Mario Felice Ferri (; born January 6, 1948) is an Italian-Canadian community organizer, activist, municipal and regional councillor of Vaughan, Ontario. He also co-founded an organization credited with helping to force the closure of Canada's largest municipal waste facility, the Keele Valley Landfill. At the time of its closure, the waste facility was the third-largest in North America near the heart of Vaughan, the fifth-largest city in the Greater Toronto Area. The waste landfill site became the centre of a 14-year battle between the citizens of Vaughan and both the Government of Ontario and the City of Toronto government, which owned and operated the site. Mr. Ferri co-founded ''Vaughan CARES'', an activist group that became prominent in the fight to close the waste facility. Vaughan Mills
Vaughan Mills is a regional outlet mall located at the southeast quadrant of the Highway 400 and Rutherford Road interchange in Vaughan, Ontario, just south of Canada's Wonderland. It is one of the largest enclosed shopping centres in Canada, and the largest shopping mall in York Region with almost of retail space. The complex has over 200 retail stores, restaurants, and entertainment outlets. Vaughan Metropolitan Centre is the city centre of Vaughan, Ontario, Canada. Linda D. Jackson is a Canadian politician and former mayor of Vaughan, Ontario. Jackson was elected mayor on November 14, 2006. Jackson won the election by 90 votes, displacing incumbent Michael Di Biase. She was later defeated by Maurizio Bevilacqua in the 2010 Vaughan municipal election. Woodbridge is a very large suburban community in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada, along the city's border with Toronto. Maple is a large neighbourhood in Vaughan, York Region, Ontario, Canada, north of Toronto. It was founded as a small village, located at the intersection of Major Mackenzie Drive and Keele Street. Geography Maple is located across Highway 400 from Woodbridge and still-rural areas of Vaughan to the southwest and northwest respectively, and Concord to the south across Rutherford Road. To the east it forms the city's boundary along Bathurst Street, across from the City of Richmond Hill.
