Vartholomio–Loutra Kyllinis Railway
The Vartholomio – Loutra Kyllinis railway line () was a meter gauge railway line of the Piraeus, Athens and Peloponnese Railways (SPAP). It branched off the Kavasila–Kyllini railway line at the railway station of Vartholomio, 1 km north of the town at km 5.895 of that line. The Vartholomio – Loutra Kyllinis line was opened on June 1, 1892. Its construction coincided with the start of the exploitation of the hot springs at Loutra Kyllinis (the name means " Kyllini baths") by the SPAP, which constructed spa facilities, hotels and parks there. The line was shut down in 1969. The line was first known as the ''Vartholomio–Lintzi line'', as Loutra Kyllinis was previously known by the name of ''Lintzi''. Elis (regional Unit)
Elis also known as Ellis or Ilia (, ''Eleia'') is a historic region in the western part of the Peloponnese peninsula of Greece. It is administered as a regional unit of the modern region of Western Greece. Its capital is Pyrgos. Until 2011 it was Elis Prefecture, covering the same territory. The modern regional unit is nearly coterminous with the ancient Elis of the classical period. Vartholomio
Vartholomio () is a town and a former municipality in Elis, West Greece, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Pineios, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 60.696 km2. The municipal unit covers the southern part of the hilly Kyllini peninsula, and the plains to the southeast. The town Vartholomio is in the plains, on the right bank of the river Pineios, which flows into the Ionian Sea south of the town. The town was at the junction of two railway lines, one from Kavasila to Kyllini, and the branch Vartholomio–Loutra Kyllinis railway line. Both railways have been dismantled. Loutra Kyllinis
Kastro-Kyllini () is a former municipality in Elis, West Greece, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Andravida-Kyllini, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 49.322 km2. The population was 3,272 in 2021. The municipality Kastro-Kyllini was created in 1999 as part of the Kapodistrias reform from the formerly independent communities Kyllini, Kato Panagia, Kastro and Neochori, that became municipal districts. After the 2011 Kallikratis reform, these municipal districts became (dependent) communities. Its seat of administration was the small port town of Kyllini. Lygia
Lygia () is a village and a community in the municipal unit of Vartholomio, Elis, Greece. The community includes the villages Arkoudi, Glyfa, Ioniki and Paralia. Lygia is situated in the low hills of the southern part of the Kyllini peninsula, 3 km from the Ionian Sea. It is 4 km southeast of Kastro, 4 km east of Loutra Kyllinis and 4 km west of Vartholomio. Arkoudi is the westernmost village of the community, 4 km southwest of Lygia, on the coast near Loutra Kyllinis. Its population was 77 in 2001. Glyfa is 2 km southwest of Lygia, and had 249 inhabitants in 2001. Paralia is 3 km south of Lygia, on the coast. It had 96 inhabitants.
