Valérie Igounet
Valérie Igounet is a French historian and political scientist. She studies the phenomenon of Holocaust denial, and extreme right-wing politics in France. Her research on the history of Holocaust denial and Holocaust revisionism in France traces them to both extreme right-wing and extreme left-wing sources. She was the author of the 2000 book ''Histoire du négationnisme en France'' (History of Holocaust Denial in France), as well as a biography of the prominent French Holocaust denier Robert Faurisson. Education and workplaces Igounet was born in 1970, and in 1998 she obtained a PhD in history from the Institut d'études politiques in Paris, under the supervision of Pierre Milza. Beginning in the late 1990s, she wrote pieces for '' Le Monde diplomatique''. Roger Garaudy
Roger Garaudy (; 17 July 1913 – 13 June 2012) was a French philosopher, French resistance fighter and a communist author. He converted to Islam in 1982. In 1998, he was convicted for several years and fined for Holocaust denial under French law for claiming that the mass slaughter of six million Jews was a "myth". Early life and education Roger Garaudy was born in Marseille to working class Catholic parents. At the age of 14, Garaudy converted to Protestantism. He fought during World War II and received the Croix de Guerre. After a period as a Vichy France prisoner of war in Algeria, Garaudy joined the French Resistance working for resistance radio and the newspaper ''Liberté''. Robert Redeker
Robert Redeker is a French writer and philosophy teacher. He was teaching at the Pierre-Paul-Riquet high school, in Saint-Orens-de-Gameville, and at the École Nationale de l'Aviation Civile. He is currently in hiding under police protection. On 19 September 2006, a few days before the Islamic month of Ramadan, he wrote an editorial, opinion piece for ''Le Figaro'', a French secular and conservative newspaper, which quickly removed the article from its public database. In it, he attacked Islam and Muhammad, writing: "''Pitiless war leader, pillager, butcher of Jews and polygamous, this is how Mohammed is revealed by the Koran.''" Mémorial de la Shoah is the The Holocaust, Holocaust museum in Paris, France. The memorial is in the 4th arrondissement of Paris, in the Le Marais, Marais district, which had a large Jewish population at the beginning of World War II. The memorial was opened, by President Jacques Chirac, on 27 January 2005. This day was chosen to coincide with International Holocaust Remembrance Day and the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz concentration camp. The memorial underwent a major renovation in 2005, creating exhibition spaces, a multimedia center, and a reading room. François Duprat (; 26 October 1940 – 18 March 1978) was a French essayist and politician, a founding member of the Front National party and part of the leadership until his assassination in 1978. Duprat was one of the main architects in the introduction of Holocaust denial in France.
