Valencian Parliamentary Election, 2003
A regional election was held in the Valencian Community on Sunday, 25 May 2003, to elect the 6th Corts Valencianes, Corts of the Autonomous communities of Spain, autonomous community. All 89 seats in the Corts were up for election. The election was held simultaneously with 2003 Spanish regional elections, regional elections in twelve other autonomous communities and 2003 Spanish local elections, local elections all throughout Spain. Despite growing discontent with the nationwide José María Aznar's government, the People's Party of the Valencian Community, People's Party (PP) was able to comfortably retain its absolute majority in the Corts, losing only one seat compared to 1999, which was gained by the Esquerra Unida–L'Entesa, Agreement (Entesa) alliance led by United Left of the Valencian Country (EUPV). Corts Valencianes
The Corts Valencianes (), commonly known as ''Les Corts'' (), are the main legislative body of the Generalitat Valenciana and therefore of the Valencian Community. The main location of the Corts is in the Palace of the Borgias in Valencia, Spain, Valencia; however it can meet at any location in the Valencian lands.
