Vain Elämää
is the Finnish version of '' The Best Singers'' series broadcast on Finnish Nelonen commercial television channel fashioned on the successful Dutch series ''De beste zangers van Nederland''. Each day, one artist would be chosen, and the remaining artists would perform covers of their songs and would be assessed by the original artist. The last day would be dedicated to duets of the most popular performances. The title of the Finnish series is inspired by the 1973 song ''Vain elämää'' ("It's only life") by Irwin Goodman. Summary Season 1 (2012) The first Finnish edition started on 5 October 2012 and continued until 23 November 2012. The artists taking part were Erin, Kaija Koo, Katri Helena, Jonne Aaron, Cheek, Neumann and Jari Sillanpää. Many of the renditions during the series have charted on the Finnish Singles Chart and the self-titled compilation album has topped the Finnish Albums Chart. VilleGalle
(; formerly known as Jare & VilleGalle) is a Finnish rap duo made up of Jare Joakim Brand (born 8 October 1987) and Ville-Petteri Galle (born 4 October 1987). Their style is often referred to as sport rap. Both Jare and Ville are passionate athletes and originally became famous for their unique and comical sports-themed songs, where they rapped about ice hockey, soccer, doping, Finnish sportspeople (such as Jari Litmanen and Teemu Selänne), snus and playing NHL video games. Some of their comedic lyrics are thought to be incomprehensible to those not from East Helsinki as much of their music adopts slang from the Eastern part of the Finnish capital. Maija Vilkkumaa
Maija Johanna Vilkkumaa (born 9 November 1973) is a Finnish pop rock singer-songwriter. Beginning her musical hobbies playing piano at an age before school, Vilkkumaa studied in high school where she and her friends set up the band Tarharyhmä in 1990, which broke up in 1995. While studying Finnish language at the University of Helsinki, she started to take singing lessons and went on to start her solo career in 1999. Anssi Kela
Anssi Kela (born 29 July 1972 in Kerava, Finland) is a Finnish singer-songwriter multi-instrumentalist who has published six albums. During his career, Kela has sold over 230,000 records in Finland. He received four Emma awards in 2002. Anssi Kela comes from a musical family. His late father was a keyboardist and songwriter in a gospel band called Pro Fide, his mother is a cantor and brother a drummer. Kela began his musical career playing various stringed instruments, including the violin, cello and contrabass. However he was more interested in rock music, and wanted to play bass, instead.
