Vahap Åžanal
Vahap Åžanal (born 26 May 1998) is a Turkish chess grandmaster and two-time Turkish Chess Champion. Chess career In 2006, Åžanal became the youngest player on the Turkish national team at the age of eight and defeated world champion Magnus Carlsen in an online blitz game in 2019. Åžanal won the 4th World Schools Chess Championships, U11 section in 2008, scoring 8.5/9, and becoming a Candidate master in the process. In 2012, he won the European School Championship Open 15, scoring 8.5/9, and also became a FIDE Master that year. He won the Turkish Chess Championship in 2019 and 2020. He qualified to play in the Chess World Cup 2021 and Chess World Cup 2023. Åžanal took part in the 23rd European Chess Championship and won the individual bronze medal for his board. Vasyl Mykhailovych Ivanchuk (; born March 18, 1969) is a Ukrainian chess grandmaster. He was awarded the title of International Grandmaster, Grandmaster by FIDE in 1988. A leading chess player since 1988, Ivanchuk has been ranked at No. 2 on the FIDE world rankings three times (July 1991, July 1992, October 2007). Anton Korobov
Anton Sergiyovych Korobov (; born 25 June 1985) is a Ukrainian chess player. He was awarded the title Grandmaster by FIDE in 2003. Korobov is a four-time Ukrainian champion. He was voted the best male chess player of Ukraine of 2012. Chess career Korobov won the Ukrainian Chess Championship in 2002, 2012, 2018, 2020 and finished second behind Andrei Volokitin in 2004. Nodirbek Abdusattorov
Nodirbek Abdusattorov (; born 18 September 2004) is an Uzbek chess grandmaster. A chess prodigy, he qualified for the grandmaster title at the age of 13 years, 1 month, and 11 days. FIDE awarded him the title in April 2018. He is Uzbekistan's highest-rated grandmaster and currently one of the best chess players in the world. The Chess World Cup 2023 was a 206-player single-elimination chess tournament that took place in Baku, Azerbaijan from 30 July to 24 August 2023. It was the 10th edition of the Chess World Cup. The winner, runner-up and third-place finisher of the tournament (Magnus Carlsen, R Praggnanandhaa and Fabiano Caruana) earned the right to the play in the 2024 Candidates Tournament. In January 2024, Carlsen withdrew from the Candidates tournament, with the fourth-place finisher from the World Cup ( Nijat Abasov) qualifying in his place. It was the 9th edition of the Chess World Cup.
