Cold War Kids
Cold War Kids is an American alternative rock band from Long Beach, California. Band members are Nathan Willett (vocals, piano, guitar), Matt Maust (bass guitar), David Quon (guitar, backing vocals), Matthew Schwartz (keyboards, backing vocals, guitar, percussion), and Joe Plummer (drums, percussion). Former members of the band include Dann Gallucci (guitar, keyboards, percussion), Matt Aveiro (drums, percussion), and Jonnie Russell (guitar, vocals, piano, keyboards, percussion). Forming in 2004 in Fullerton California, the Cold War Kids' early releases came from independent record label Monarchy Music. ''Up in Rags/With Our Wallets Full'' is a collection of early recordings by the American indie rock band Cold War Kids. After a surge of internet buzz and a heavy touring schedule in 2006, Cold War Kids packaged their previous two six-song EPs together as a full-length LP. The album consists of the same recordings on ''Up in Rags'' and ''With Our Wallets Full''. The album was released on Monarchy Music as a promotional compilation LP of their very rare first two EPs (which were limited to 500 copies each). "Hang Me Up to Dry" is a song by American indie rock band Cold War Kids. Written and co-produced by all four band members and Matt Wignall, it originally came from their third EP ''Up in Rags'' (2006) and is the second track off their debut album ''Robbers & Cowards'' (2006). Lyrically, the song tells a story of a 'one-sided relationship' and uses the action of hanging wet clothes on a clothesline as a metaphor for the relationship. It was released as a single on January 29, 2007 by Downtown and V2 Records, charting at number 57 in the UK and number 26 on the ''Billboard'' Alternative Songs chart.
