Unicorn Digital
Unicorn Digital is an independent Canadian record label founded in 1996 by Michel St-Père. The label was originally created to promote his band Mystery, however since its founding the label has expanded to include many more artists. In 2005, the label changed its name from Unicorn Records to Unicorn Digital. Outside Music
Outside Music is a Canadian record label and distributor founded by Lloyd Nishimura in 2001. In 2007, it expanded to include an artist management division which includes Jill Barber, Matthew Barber, Aidan Knight, Justin Rutledge as management clients. The Outside Music Label released The Sadies's ''Tremendous Efforts'' and albums by Billy Bragg, Tinariwen, The Super Friendz, and the soundtrack to the indie film ''The Life and Hard Times of Guy Terrifico''. In 2010, The Sadies's '' Darker Circles'' and The Besnard Lakes's ''The Besnard Lakes Are the Roaring Night'' appeared on the Polaris Music Prize shortlist while in 2011, Little Scream's ''The Golden Record'', Sloan's ''The Double Cross'', Black Mountain's ''Wilderness Heart'' and One Hundred Dollars's ''Songs of Man'' all garnered Polaris long list nominations. Daryl Stuermer
Daryl Mark Stuermer (born November 27, 1952) is an American musician, songwriter, and producer best known for playing the guitar and bass for Genesis during live shows, and lead guitar for Phil Collins during most solo tours and albums. He has also released nine solo albums, and tours with his Daryl Stuermer Band. Early life Stuermer was born on November 27, 1952, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He cites Duane, his elder brother of two years, also a musician, who introduced him to music by Elvis Presley and Ray Charles. As a youngster he became a fan of the instrumental rock band The Ventures, which "really got me going". He began to play the guitar at age eleven, and moved into jazz guitar four years later. In 1970, Stuermer graduated from St. Francis High School in St. Francis, Wisconsin. Unitopia
Unitopia is an Australian music group using progressive rock as a framework, but also including elements of world, classical, jazz, hard rock, and groove. Unitopia reformed in 2021 and began work on a new album. Biography Unitopia began when a mutual friend introduced Trueack and Timms after realizing the two had similar musical tastes. In late 1996, the duo began work on a track which was to become "Take Good Care" and a songwriting partnership developed that led to the band's debut album ''More Than a Dream'', which included contributions from conductor/arranger Timothy Sexton and the Adelaide Art Orchestra, Pat Schirippa, Constantine Delo, Bradley Polain and Ian 'Polly' Politis. The album was independently launched in October 2005 to a sell out audience at The Cavern Club, Adelaide. Further live work followed in Australia, including supporting Daryl Braithwaite and playing the Norwood Food and Wine Festival. In March 2006, Canadian label Unicorn Records re-released ''More ... Roger Powell (musician)
Roger Powell (born March 14, 1949) is a musician, programmer, and magazine columnist best known for his membership with the rock band Utopia. Career Musician Powell's musical career started in the late 1960s, programming analog synthesizers for commercials. Powell was the protégé of Robert Moog (who created the Moog synthesizer), as well as Moog's competitor ARP, contributing designs and demonstrating systems. Powell played keyboards and synthesizers with the rock band Utopia, led by Todd Rundgren and featuring players Kasim Sulton and Willie Wilcox, among others, from 1974 until its disbanding in 1985, playing, writing, and singing on ten of the band's eleven albums. For Utopia's live shows, Powell created the ''Powell Probe''; the first remote, hand-held polyphonic synthesizer controller, which featured a custom-made shell used to access a complex stack of sequencers and other peripherals offstage, a device also used in a modified form by Jan Hammer. Nathan Mahl
Nathan Mahl are a Canadian progressive rock band with jazz fusion elements formed in Ottawa, Ontario. Throughout a constantly evolving lineup of rock and fusion musicians from the Ottawa and Gatineau, Quebec, Gatineau regions, keyboardist Guy LeBlanc (1960-2015) was widely regarded as the essence and constant of the band. Guy appears to be more widely known as the keyboardist for Progressive Rock Legends Camel (band), Camel since 2000. Recording and touring resulted in ''A Nod and a Wink'' and ''The Paris Collection (Camel album), The Paris Collection (Live)''.
