UMFS Dalvík
UMFS Dalvík (officially named Ungmennafélag Svarfdæla, usually referred to as Dalvík, previously referred to as Svarfdælir) is an Icelandic sports club located in Dalvík. The club has had competitors in various sports in Iceland, most notably football, athletics and basketball. The club currently has no senior football team but is part of the Dalvík/Reynir cooperation and has youth teams playing in national competitions. Dalvík has also had teams playing in national handball and volleyball leagues. History UMFS Dalvík was founded in 1909 and was from the start involved in and organized various activities for youth in the Svarfaðardalur area, mostly sports. In 1978 the club first entered the Icelandic football league, playing in a 3rd division provincial group for two seasons, 1978 and 1979. Dalvík/Reynir
Dalvík/Reynir is an Icelandic football club based in Dalvík. The club was formed in 2006 after the merger between UMFS Dalvík & Reynir Árskógsströnd History In 2006 UMFS Dalvík and Reynir Árskógsströnd joined forces to form a new club, Dalvík/Reynir, after Leiftur and Dalvík broke up their cooperation that had formed Leiftur/Dalvík and lasted only four years. This was actually the second time Dalvík and Reynir joined, they first did so in the early 1990s but that time the didn't officially join, Reynir withdrew from the football league and most of the players and staff joined Dalvík. After Dalvík and Leiftur formed Leiftur/Dalvík, Reynir resurfaced and joined the league again with mostly young players from Dalvík that weren't in the Leiftur/Dalvík regular squad. Volleyball
