Uzbekistan Frontier Service
The Frontier Service, officially called the Committee for State Border Protection of the National Security Service () and commonly referred to as the National Border Guard, is a department of the military and National Security Service of Uzbekistan responsible for border security, part of the Security Service since 2005. Structure Navy A small riverine naval force is operated by the Frontier Service on the Amu Darya river, with two Gurza-class gunboats in service as well as other small craft. Civil Guard In early 2021, the government ordered the creation of civilian border guard detachments to assist the border troops. It recruits citizens between the ages of 18 and 60 who live in village near the national border, and can work on a voluntary basis. The Uzbek Navy, known officially as the River Force of Uzbek Frontier Committee are the mobile riverine force of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan, serving under the Border Troops of the State Security Service. The Amu Darya ( ),() also shortened to Amu and historically known as the Oxus ( ), is a major river in Central Asia, which flows through Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Afghanistan. Gurza-class Boat
The ''Project 58150 Gyurza'' class is a series of small armored gunboats built for the Frontier Service (Uzbekistan), Uzbek Frontier Service. The whole class is produced by the Kuznya na Rybalskomu (Kyiv). The class is named after the Macrovipera lebetina, Levant viper, , in Ukrainian. The original and modernized classes are developed by the State Research and Design Shipbuilding Center (Mykolaiv). There were only two ships of Project 58150 Gyurza in 2004 for the Uzbek Border Guard and were financed by the United States. The modernized Gyurza-M-class gunboat, Project 58155 Gyurza-M for the Ukrainian Navy started to be built at the Kuznya na Rybalskomu, Leninska Kuznya in October 2012. The Border Guard Service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic, or simply the Kyrgyz Frontier Force, is the border guard of the Kyrgyz Republic. It is currently a Public Service department of the government of the republic and is not part of any ministries.
