Thrash Metal
Thrash metal (or simply thrash) is an Extreme metal, extreme subgenre of heavy metal music characterized by its overall aggression and fast tempo.Kahn-Harris, Keith, ''Extreme Metal: Music and Culture on the Edge'', pp. 2–3, 9. Oxford: Berg, 2007, . The songs usually use fast percussive beats and low-register guitar riffs, overlaid with Shred guitar, shredding-style lead guitar work. The genre emerged in the early 1980s as musicians began fusing the double bass drumming and complex guitar stylings of the new wave of British heavy metal (NWOBHM) with the speed and aggression of hardcore punk and the technicality of progressive rock. Philosophically, thrash metal developed as a backlash against both the conservatism of the Reagan era and the much more moderate, Pop music, pop-influenced, and widely accessible heavy metal subgenre of glam metal which also developed concurrently in the 1980s. Derived genres include crossover thrash, a fusion of thrash metal and hardcore punk. Th ...

Sakara Records
Sakara Records is an independent Finland, Finnish metal/rock record label. It was found in 2003 by the Finnish metal group Mokoma. Since then the label has added the Finnish bands Stam1na, Rytmihäiriö, Black Bile, Diablo (band), Diablo and YUP (band), YUP. Mokoma was formed in Lappeenranta in 1996, initially as a traditional rock band, and released two records on the EMI label. Neither record sold well, and EMI was not supportive of the band's plan to move into thrash metal, so the band formed Sakara Records in 2003 to produce their own music. The Finnish metal band Stam1na, formed in 1996, was also struggling to gain interest from mainstream labels, and became the second group to sign up with Sakara, releasing their self-titled debut in the spring of 2005. In January 2008 the Finnish metallers Diablo signed up with Sakara Records to record their fifth album "Icaros (album), Icaros". Sakara Records next signed up Black Bile, and in April 2008 issued Black Bile's debut album "Gre ...

Tuomo Saikkonen
Mokoma is a Finnish thrash metal band formed in Lappeenranta, Finland, in 1996. Their music also has grindcore and death metal influences with traditional Finnish melancholy. Mokoma started out as a creation of Marko Annala, who is the band's lead singer, and has been the band's only original remaining band member. The name comes from Annala's former girlfriends' Karelian grandmother, who said "Voi siuta mokomaa". That means "Oh gosh, you and your tricks", basically in simple words when put into English. Mokoma is similar but slightly more gracious word to "damned" or "accursed". Through the years several members have come and gone, but only Annala has remained constant. The band started out as a more traditional Rock music, rock band with their first two albums "Valu" and "Mokoman 120 päivää". However, both albums sold badly and they were eventually dropped when they suggested to their record company (EMI), that they wanted to play something closer to their hearts, thrash ...
