Unión Temuco
Club Deportivo Unión Temuco was a Chilean professional football club based in Temuco, La Araucanía Region. The club played at the Chilean Primera División B, Primera B, the second tier of the Chilean football, until 2013 when it was folded. The club was established in January 2008 by former football star Marcelo Salas, who was born in Temuco. In 2009, the club joined to the Third Division tournament, and years later this tournament was won by Temuco, being the first official title of the club. Their home games were played at the Estadio Municipal Germán Becker. Unión Temuco's main rivalry was with neighbours Deportes Temuco, against whom they contested the Araucanía derby. The main supporters of the club were the fans of Club Universidad de Chile, Universidad de Chile living in Temuco, because Marcelo Salas (a former symbol of 'La U') owned the team. Estadio Municipal Germán Becker
The Estadio Municipal Bicentenario Germán Becker Baechler is a stadium located in Temuco, Chile and owned by the Temuco municipality. It is the home ground of Deportes Temuco and also, the former ground of the defunct Unión Temuco football clubs. It was designed by Enrique Esteve and inaugurated on August 13, 1965. Its dimensions are: 105 x 68 m. It has a capacity of 18,100. It was originally built for the inmates at the Temuco prison. The highest ever recorded attendance was on December 3, 1972, when 32,551 spectators saw the Primera Division match between Green Cross Temuco and Colo-Colo. In 2007 the stadium was selected as a venue for the 2008 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, and to comply with FIFA standards, its facilities were improved, its capacity was decreased from 20,930 to 18,100; and all seats were covered by a roof (from about 80% previously). Mauricio Fernando Aros Bahamonde (born 9 March 1976) is a Chilean former professional footballer who played as a left-back. Club career Aros began his career in the youth squads of Deportes Concepción and debuted as a professional in 1995. In 1998, Aros left the club for Universidad de Chile and won two Primera División Chilean Championships and two Copa Chile trophies with the club. In 2001, he signed for Dutch club Feyenoord. Sebastián Eduardo Pardo Campos (born 1 January 1982) is a Chilean former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career Pardo was born in Quillota. He began his career at Universidad de Chile, and joined Eredivisie's Feyenoord in 2002–03, debuting on 10 September 2002, against Excelsior Rotterdam (4–1 win), scoring his first goal for Feyenoord in that match.
