União Suzano Atlético Clube, or simply União Suzano, is a Brazilian football team based in Suzano, São Paulo. Founded in 1969, the team competes in Campeonato Paulista Série A3, the third tier of the São Paulo state football league. The club was formerly known as Clube Atlético Paulista. History The club was founded on January 25, 1969 as Clube Atlético Paulista in Palmeiras neighborhood. Campeonato Paulista Série A3
Campeonato Paulista Série A3 (also referred to as Paulistão A3 for short) is the third level of the São Paulo state professional football championship, one of the Brazilian state championships. The tournament has been known as Série A3 since the 1993-94 season. Structure The current format of the Paulistão A3 was introduced in 2018, after the number of teams was decreased from 20 to 16. Two teams are promoted to Série A2, and the bottom two teams are relegated to Campeonato Paulista Segunda Divisão. First stage Each of the 16 competitors play each other once in the first stage of the competition, for a total of 15 matches between mid-January and early-April. A win earns three points and a draw earns one point. Teams are ranked by total points, then by total wins and finally by goal difference, number of scored goals, lower number of yellow and red cards taken. Football is the most popular sport in Brazil and a prominent part of the country’s national identity. The Brazil national football team has won the FIFA World Cup five times, the most of any team, in 1958, 1962, 1970, 1994 and 2002. A football team is a group of players selected to play together in the various team sports known as football. Suzano
Suzano is a municipality in São Paulo state, Brazil. It is part of the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo. The population is 300,559 (2020 est.) in an area of 206.24 km². The elevation is 749 m. Suzano has a large Japanese Brazilian population. It consists of a large downtown area surrounded by residential areas. There are three main roads that travel through the downtown section. One of them is a one-way street (northbound), and two are one-way streets (southbound). It was named after the engineer who built the train station. The city features a medium-sized shopping mall, city hall, train station, frequent bus routes, and a small number of office and residential buildings. The Brazilian states football championships are the professional adult male soccer competitions in Brazil that take place between January and April for the Northeast, Central-West, Southeast and South regions. In some states from the North Region, however, it takes place in May or June.
