University Preparatory School (Redding, California)
University Preparatory School is a grade 6-12 college preparatory school located in Redding, California, United States established in 2004. The school is a charter school within the Shasta Union High School District. Located in the Shasta Learning Center, the school's facilities include three gymnasiums, a stadium with an all-weather turf field, softball and baseball fields, and 1000-seat theater. Highly respected as one of the best 250 schools in the country, it has some of the highest AP and average SAT/ACT scores of all public high schools in the country. Administration Rochelle Angley is the current principal at U-Prep, in her 1st year (as of 2022) on the job. Redding, California
Redding is the economic and cultural capital of the Shasta Cascade region of Northern California and the county seat of Shasta County. Redding lies along the Sacramento River, north of Sacramento, and south of California's northern border with Oregon. Its population is 95,542 as of the 2022 census, up from 89,861 from the 2010 census. Etymology During the Gold Rush, the area that now comprises Redding was called Poverty Flats. Shasta Union High School District
Shasta Union High School District is a high school district in Redding, California. It serves all the high schools in Redding and its surrounding areas. Shasta Union High School District was first established in 1899. On May 6, 2009, a county court judge ruled that Shasta Union High School District had to stop drug testing of students in non-athletic extracurricular activities, such as school band and debate club. Jim Cloney, former Assistant Superintendent and Foothill High School principal is the current superintendent, this is his 9th year in the job. Milan Wollard, the former longtime (16 year) principal at Shasta High School is in his 1st year as Associate Superintendent, having replaced T. Kyle Turner. Nova High School was a public high school based in Redding, California. It was a part of the Shasta Union High School District (along with Shasta High School, Enterprise High School and Central Valley High School) from 1967 until it closed in 1991. The school was located at 2200 Eureka Way in Redding, where the school district offices are now located.
