Caythorpe, Lincolnshire
Caythorpe is a village and civil parish in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. The population at 2011 census was 1,374. It is situated on the A607, approximately south from Leadenham and north from Grantham. Caythorpe Heath stretches east of the village to Ermine Street and Byards Leap. Arnhem heritage Caythorpe is known for the soldiers based in the village during the Second World War. The 1st Airborne Signals Regiment took part in Operation Market Garden and fought for the bridges of Arnhem against the Nazis. Survivors of the Battle of Arnhem return to the village every late summer with the 216 Signals Regiment for Arnhem Weekend. Riseholme College
Riseholme College is a Further and Higher Education college in Lincolnshire, specialising in land-based subjects such as Agriculture, Equine and Animal Management. It is a part of Bishop Burton College and is based across two campuses - the Riseholme Park campus and the Showground campus, both near Lincoln. It was known as the Lincolnshire College of Agriculture and Horticulture alongside its sister site of Caythorpe Court near Grantham, before being renamed in 2007. After which the two site were merged and Caythorpe was closed. History The school began life as ''Riseholme Farm Institute'' in 1949, becoming, in 1966, the Lindsey College of Agriculture. In 1980, the Lindsey college merged with its counterparts in the parts of Holland and Kesteven, and the combined county-wide college of agriculture was taken over by De Montfort University in 1994, before transferring to the University of Lincoln in 2001. The Lincoln College of Art was an educational institution devoted to the arts, based in the English city of Lincoln, England, Lincoln with its origins in the mid-nineteenth century. The institution changed shape and name numerous times over its history before being absorbed into the University of Lincoln. Midway through the nineteenth century, the then British Government's Department of Science and Art, based in South Kensington, began establishing a network of art schools as a means of promoting and aiding manufacturing.
