Universitate (''University'') is a metro station located in University Square, Bucharest, near the University of Bucharest, the University of Architecture, the National Theatre Bucharest and the InterContinental Hotel. The station is one of the deepest in the whole system, with a narrow platform, built around huge pillars designed to sustain the weight of the lobby/subway. University Square () is located in Bucharest city centre, near the University of Bucharest. It is served by Universitate metro station. Four statues can be found in the University Square, in front of the university; they depict Ion Heliade Rădulescu (1879), Michael the Brave (1874), Gheorghe Lazăr (1889) and Spiru Haret (1932). Sector 3 () is an administrative unit of Bucharest. It is the most populous, most densely populated and also the third-largest division of the city. An island platform (also center platform (American English) or centre platform (British English)) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Piața Unirii Metro Station
Piața Unirii (''Union Square'') is a major metro station in Bucharest. It is located in the southern part of the city centre, in Union Square (''Piața Unirii'' in Romanian), and it is one of the busiest stations of the Bucharest Metro. It is made up of two terminals, one on the M1 and M3 lines and another on the M2 line, linked by a passage. The M1/M3 station was opened on 19 November 1979 as part of the inaugural section of Bucharest Metro, between Semănătoarea and Timpuri Noi. The M2 station was opened on 24 January 1986 as part of the inaugural section of the line, from Piața Unirii to Depoul IMGB. On 24 October 1987, the line was extended north to Pipera. Pipera Metro Station
Pipera is a metro station in Bucharest, located in the Pipera district. Opened on 24 October 1987 as part of the M2 extension from Piața Unirii, it is the northern terminus of the line. The initial scope of the station was to serve the large Pipera industrial estate. Since the end of industry in Romania however, the station is now used by the new business and residential estates established here. RATB tram lines 16 and 36 stop outside the station building. Night bus N125 also stops here. Layout The station has two side platforms. Northbound trains reverse in the sidings to the east of the station which can be seen from the platforms. To make room for them, southbound trains leave as northbound trains arrive.
