United Front (1967–1969, Kerala)
United Front or the Seven Party Alliance (Malayalam: Saptha Kakshi Munnani) was an alliance of seven political parties in Kerala state, India, which won the 1967 Kerala Legislative Assembly election and formed the Second E. M. S. Namboodiripad ministry. It was led by the Communist Party of India Marxist (CPIM) and the members of the coalition were: The coalition had a comfortable majority of 117 members out of 133 (including 4 independents). E. M. Bhagwan Sahay
Bhagwan Sahay (15 February 1905 – 6 December 1986) was the Governor of Kerala, India, from 6 February 1966 to 15 May 1967. Bhagwan Sahay took over as the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir on 15 May 1967 and continued till 3 July 1973. He was an ICS officer and an alumnus of the S.M College in Chandausi, Moradabad and became the second alumni of that College, after his immediate predecessor Ajit Prasad Jain, to become governor of Kerala. Before his stint in Kerala, he was also the Lieutenant Governor of Punjab. In the 1970s, under President VV Giri, a former governor of Kerala himself, he headed the committee of governors which sought to outline guidelines for constitutional heads. United Front (1970–1979, Kerala)
United Front (Malayalam: Aikya Munnani), known until 1971 as Mini Front (1970–1971) and as Maxi Front (1971–1979) thereafter, was a coalition of political parties in Kerala state, India, which was the ruling combine in the state from 1970 to 1979 (4th and 5th Kerala Legislative Assemblies). The coalition was formed by five political parties immediately before the 1970 Kerala Legislative Assembly election. The Norway Debate, sometimes called the Narvik Debate, was a momentous debate in the British House of Commons from 7 to 9 May 1940, during the Second World War. The official title of the debate, as held in the ''Hansard'' parliamentary archive, is Conduct of the War. The debate was initiated by an adjournment motion enabling the Commons to freely discuss the progress of the Norwegian campaign. 1967 Kerala Legislative Assembly Election
The Kerala Legislative Assembly election of 1967 was held to constitute the fourth assembly in Kerala. This election, was held in the backdrop of the 1965 election which resulted in a hung assembly and subsequent President's rule. As a result of that, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) formed a seven-member coalition known as the Saptakakshi Munnani. The Indian National Congress and the Kerala Congress contested separately. The election resulted in a landslide victory for the Saptakakshi Munnani which won a whopping 113 out 133 seats, the highest won by a coalition till date.
