2019 Tour Down Under
The 2019 Tour Down Under was a road bicycle racing, road cycling cycling stage race, stage race, that took place between 15 and 20 January 2019 in and around Adelaide, South Australia. It was the 21st edition of the Tour Down Under and the first race of the 2019 UCI World Tour. For the first time in the race's 21-year history, the previous year's winner was able to defend their race title as 's Daryl Impey from South Africa took the overall honours on the final day. Impey had trailed New Zealand's Patrick Bevin () by seven seconds going into the stage, finishing at Willunga, South Australia, Willunga Hill, but Bevin lost almost six minutes on the day, due to injuries suffered in a crash the previous day. 2020 Tour Down Under
The 2020 Men's Tour Down Under was a road cycling stage race that took place between 21 and 26 January 2020 in and around Adelaide, South Australia. It was the 22nd edition of the Tour Down Under and the first race of the 2020 UCI World Tour. Jarrad Drizners (born 31 May 1999) is an Australian racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI ProTeam . Career In January 2020, Drizners won the Under-23 national road race championship, which led to his inclusion in the Australian national team that competed at the 2020 Tour Down Under. There, he took the lead in the mountains classification after Stage 1 by being part of the day's breakaway group. Tour Down Under
The Tour Down Under (currently branded as the Santos Tour Down Under for sponsorship reasons) is a cycling race in and around Adelaide, South Australia. It is traditionally the opening event of the UCI World Tour and UCI Women’s WorldTour. The event was established in 1999 with the support of then Premier of South Australia John Olsen as part of an effort to strengthen the state’s sporting calendar after the Australian Grand Prix moved from Adelaide to Melbourne, Victoria. Since that time it has been owned and managed by the South Australian Government through Events South Australia, the events division of the South Australian Tourism Commission. It experienced rapid growth in its first two decades, becoming the first race granted UCI ProTour status (now UCI WorldTour) in 2008 and the first event of the UCI World Ranking calendar in 2009. Career Early career Starting his second year at , he opened the year by finishing third at the national road race championships behind two UCI WorldTour riders. He then went on to finish in the top 10 of both the New Zealand Cycle Classic and the Herald Sun Tour.
