Ulrick Chérubin
Ulrick Chérubin (December 24, 1943 – September 25, 2014) was a Canadian politician, who served as mayor of Amos, Quebec, from 2002 until his death in 2014. He was one of the first Black Canadians to be elected a mayor in Quebec. Early life The youngest of five children, Chérubin was born in Jacmel, Haiti, in 1943. He was educated in Haiti, where he was a childhood friend and classmate of Michel Adrien, who would later become mayor of Mont-Laurier, Quebec. Fleeing the dictatorship regime of François Duvalier, Chérubin left Haiti while he was still studying mathematics in a Port-au-Prince university. He moved to Canada in 1970 to study education at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, and subsequently taught religion in Cap-de-la-Madeleine. Amos, Quebec
Amos is a town (Quebec), town in northwestern Quebec, Canada, on the Harricana River. It is the seat of Abitibi Regional County Municipality. Amos is the main town on the Harricana River, and the smallest of the three primary towns — after Rouyn-Noranda and Val-d'Or — in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region of Quebec. The smaller communities of Lac-Gauvin and Saint-Maurice-de-Dalquier are also within the municipal boundaries of Amos. History Rupert's Land, in which Abitibi was located, was owned by the Hudson's Bay Company and was bought by Canada in 1869. Abitibi itself was then annexed to the province in Quebec on June 13, 1898, by an act of the federal Parliament. Heart failure (HF), also known as congestive heart failure (CHF), is a syndrome caused by an impairment in the heart's ability to fill with and pump blood. ''Deal or No Deal'' is the name of several closely related television game shows, the first of which (launching the format) was the Dutch '' Miljoenenjacht'' (''Hunt/Chase for Millions''). The centerpiece of this format is the final round (a.k.a. the "case game" or "main game") which is played with up to 26 cases (or, in some versions, boxes), each containing randomly assigned sums of money. After the player for the case game is determined, this contender claims one case or a box at the start of the game, without its contents being revealed. ''Le Banquier'' () was a Canadian game show and the Quebec adaptation of the international game show ''Deal or No Deal''. It debuted on January 24, 2007 at 9 pm on the TVA network. The program, produced in Montreal, Quebec by JPL Production II Inc. and Endemol USA for TVA, is hosted by Julie Snyder.
