Ulla Pirttijärvi-Länsman is a Sami joik singer from the village of Angeli (Sami: Aŋŋel), Finland. She began her career with the music group Angelin Tytöt, but left soon after to pursue a solo career. As a young child, she listened to her mother and uncle sing stories to her, and she chanted along; by age ten she was singing on her own. (; abbreviated UMK; en, italics=yes, Contest for New Music) is an annual music contest organised by the Finnish public broadcaster Yle. UMK began in 2012 as the new format for the Eurovision Song Contest, replacing the original Finnish Eurovision selection ''Suomen euroviisukarsinta'' which had been held since 1961. Hildá Birget Länsman, also known by her Saami name as Ánn-Ovllá Káre Jari Hildá (born 1993) is a Sámi singer, yoiker, and musician from Finland. In addition to performing with her own bands '' Duo Vildá'' and '' Gájanas'', she also frequently performing with her mother Ulla Pirttijärvi, both with their band '' Solju'' and on some of her mother's albums. Länsman also often appears as a guest artist on songs by other musicians and bands.
