Uladzimir Mackievič
Uladzimir Uladzimiravič Mackievič (also Uladzimir Matskevich; ; Vladimir Vladimirovich Matskevich, ; born 14 May 1956, Cheremkhovo, Irkutsk Oblast, RSFSR, USSR) is a Belarusian philosopher (methodologist), social and political activist. He was arrested on 4 August 2021 by the Belarusian authorities. Human rights organizations declared him a political prisoner. Biography His Belarusian parents were forcibly transferred to Siberia where Mackievič was born. His family was soon rehabilitated and returned to Belarus in 1966. He graduated from the Leningrad State University with a degree in psychology. He was strongly influenced by Georgy Shchedrovitsky and the Moscow methodological circle. In the late 1980s, he lived in Latvia and participated in perestroika there. In 1994, he returned to Belarus. In 1990s, Mackievič participated in different electoral campaigns as a candidate and as a political technologist. He also consulted 3 parties that merged into the United Civic Party. ...

Uladzimir Karatkievich (; ; 26 November 1930 – 25 July 1984) was a Belarusian Soviet writer, publicist, poet, translator, dramatist, and screenwriter, recognized as a classic of Belarusian literature. Uladzimir Mikalahevič Dubouka (; ; 15 July 190020 March 1976) was a Belarusian poet, prose writer, linguist, and a literary critic. Early life Dubouka was born on 15 July 1900 into a working family in Vilna Governorate. His grandfather was a farmer and his father a textile worker. He went to school from 1905 to 1912, then in 1912 he entered the specialized school, and in 1914 he enrolled to New Vilejka Teachers' Seminary, which was later moved to Nevel. In 1918 he graduated and joined his family in Moscow, where they had moved in 1915. He enrolled in the MSU History and Philology Faculty, but after two months he had to abandon his studies and go to work to support his family. In 1920 he served in a telegraph line-laying company in the Red Army. After he left the military in 1921 he worked at the People's Commissariat for Education as a school instructor and a guidance counselor. Uladzimir Navumau (, , Vladimir Naumov, also ''Uladzimir Naumau''; born 7 February 1956) is a Belarusian politician accused of human rights violations. He was Minister of the Internal Affairs of Belarus (2000-2009) and chairman of Belarus Ice Hockey Federation. Navumau has been accused of violent crackdown of opposition protests following the Belarusian presidential election in 2006 and of being related to the disappearances of opposition leaders in 1999–2000. Uladzimir Mikalayevich Karvat (, , 28 November 1959 – 23 May 1996) was a pilot for the Belarusian Air Force and the first recipient of the title Hero of Belarus. Early life and career Karvat was born on 28 May 1959 in the city of Brest in the Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic. He joined the Soviet Air Force in 1981 and completed courses at the higher piloting school in Armavir. Afterwards, he was deployed to the Far East of the Russian SFSR. There, Karvat advanced from being a normal pilot, to the commander of a flight training squadron. He had been awarded the Order for Service to the Homeland in the Armed Forces of the USSR 3rd class and the Jubilee Medal "70 Years of the Armed Forces of the USSR". Uladzimir Hayew (, ; born 28 October 1977), also known as Vladimir Gaev, is a Belarusian association football coach and former player (goalkeeper). Career Club Hayew began his playing career with the home-town team MPKC, (which later changed its name to FC Slavia Mozyr), in the Belarusian Premier League. Playing first in the youth team, before making his senior team debut in 1996, the year they won their first championship. In 2000, he won the league championship with Slavia. After a brief loan spell at Zvyazda Minsk, he played his last season for Slavia in 2002, moving another Belarus club, Gomel. His only season there brought another championship medal, in 2003.
