Udō Jin-e
The manga series ''Rurouni Kenshin'' features a large cast of character (arts), fictional characters created by Nobuhiro Watsuki. Set in Japan during the Meiji period, several of the characters are real historical figures who interact with the fictional characters. The story begins in 1878 and follows a pacifist wanderer named Himura Kenshin, who was previously an assassin known as "''Hitokiri Battōsai''" working for the Shishi (organization), Ishin Shishi during the Bakumatsu period. After helping Kamiya Kaoru, the instructor of a kendo school in Tokyo, in defeating a criminal, he is invited by her to stay at her dojo. Japanese Name

Sekihōtai
The was a Japanese revolutionary group formed in 1868 during the Boshin War. History Formation During the Boshin War, the Sekihōtai was formed on February 1, 1868 at Kongōrin-ji temple in Matsuoji, Ōmi Province with the support of Saigō Takamori and Iwakura Tomomi. Imperial court officials Ayanokoji Toshizane and Shigenoi Kinhisa were appointed as leaders of the army. The Sekihōtai had three units. Sagara Sōzō was the captain of the first unit. The Sekihōtai's second unit had as its captain the former captain of the Shinsengumi's ninth unit, Suzuki Mikisaburō, and was composed of his elder brother Itō Kashitarō's followers who had deserted the Shinsengumi. A is a Japanese sword characterized by a curved, single-edged blade with a circular or squared guard and long grip to accommodate two hands. Kawakami Gensai
was a Japanese samurai of the late Edo period. A highly skilled swordsman, he was one of the four most notable assassins of the Bakumatsu period. Gensai's high-speed sword discipline allowed him to assassinate targets in broad daylight. Early life He was born in Kumamoto, Higo Province, Japan in 1834 as the second son to , a retainer of the daimyō of the Kumamoto Domain and his wife . Because Genjiro's older brother Hanzaemon was chosen as the family's heir, at age 11 he was given in adoption to , another Kumamoto retainer and was renamed to Kawakami Gensai.
