Union Sportive de la Médina Bel Abbès (), known as USM Bel Abbès or simply USMBA for short, is an Algerian football (soccer), football club located in Sidi Bel Abbès, Algeria, that was founded in 1933 and its colors are green and red. Their home stadium, 24 February 1956 Stadium, has a capacity of 50,000 spectators. The club is currently playing in the Inter-Régions Division. History The team was founded on 7 February 1933 under the name of Union Sportive Musulmane de Bel Abbès. It was one of the great teams in the French colonial period. Between 1977 and 1987, the club was parrained by ENIE, an electronic national society and was named Electronique Sari Madinat Bel Abbès (ESMBA). On April 27, 2012, in the last round of the 2011-12 Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 2, USM Bel-Abbès beat USM Annaba 3–0 to finish third and win promotion to the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1, returning to the top flight after a 19-year absence. 24 February 1956 Stadium (, ) is a multi-use stadium in Sidi Bel Abbès, Algeria. It is currently used mostly for football (soccer), football matches and is the home ground of USM Bel Abbès. The stadium holds 45,000 spectators. History The stadium was open on 19 June 1981 and it hosted the final match of the Algerian cup 1980-81 between ASM Oran, ASC Oran and USM Alger, USK Alger. It replaced the historical stadium in the city of Sidi Bel Abbès, "The Three Amarouch Brothers Stadium" (Stade des Trois Frères Amarouch). The Algerian Super Cup () is an Algerian football competition, held as a game between the reigning champions of the Algerian League and the Algerian Cup. The Algerian Cup () also known the Republic Cup (), is a football competition in Algeria, pitting regional teams against each other. It was established in October 1962, three months after independence, and has been played yearly since then apart from 1990 and 1993.
