USL Premier Development League
USL League Two (USL2), formerly the Premier Development League (PDL), is a semi-professional soccer league sponsored by United Soccer Leagues in the United States, forming part of the United States soccer league system. The league will feature 144 teams for the 2025 season, split into nineteen regional divisions across four conferences. USL League Two is headquartered in Tampa, Florida. The Seacoast United Phantoms are the current champions, having defeated Peoria City 3–2 in extra time to win the 2024 USL League Two Championship final on August 3, 2024. Competition format USL League Two is divided into 4 conferences (Eastern, Central, Southern, and Western), comprising 19 divisions. United Soccer League
The United Soccer League (USL) is an organizer of various professional and amateur soccer leagues in the United States league system. It currently organizes its Championship, League One, and League Two for men, its Super League and W League for women, and the USL Academy and USL Youth for youth players. It also organizes the USL Cup, a league cup competition for its professional men's clubs. The USL began in 1986 as a men's indoor soccer minor league, before branching out into outdoor soccer in 1989. After rebranding as the United States Interregional Soccer League (USISL), it commenced a women's outdoor league (the W-League) and split its men's outdoor league into two pro and one amateur league over the course of 1995–96. Nashville Metros
The Nashville Metros were an American association football, soccer team based in Nashville, Tennessee, United States. Founded in 1989, the team most recently played in the Premier Development League (PDL), the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid, in the South Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference. The Metros were the longest continuously operating soccer club in the United Soccer Leagues before their last season in 2012. Pasi Kinturi
Pasi Kinturi is a retired Finnish association football player who played professionally in the USL A-League. He was the 1996 USISL Premier League MVP. Kinturi played for Malmin Palloseura youth team when it won the 1993 Helsinki Cup. In 1994, he played for the Malmin Palloseura in the Kakkonen South Group. He then moved to FinnPa in the Veikkausliiga. That fall, Kinturi moved to the United States to attend Campbell University. He played four seasons with the Campbell Fighting Camels (1994-1996, 1998). He was a 1996 Third Team NCAA All American. In addition to his collegiate career, Kinturi also spent the summer of 1996 with the Nashville Metros in the 1996 USISL Premier League season, 1996 USISL Premier League. Central Coast Roadrunners
Central Coast Roadrunners were an American soccer team, founded in 1996. The team was a member of the United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League (PDL), the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid, until 2002, after which the team left the league and the franchise rights were transferred to the newly formed Fresno Fuego. The Roadrunners were one of the most successful PDL franchises in California, winning the national championship in 1996 and 1997. American Professional Soccer League
The American Professional Soccer League (APSL) was a professional men's soccer league with teams from the United States and later Canada. It was formed in 1990 by the merger of the third American Soccer League with the Western Soccer League. It was the first outdoor soccer league to feature teams from throughout the United States since the demise of the North American Soccer League in 1984. The league was sanctioned as Division II in the United States soccer league system but was the country's '' de facto'' top professional soccer league until 1995. The Austin Lone Stars were a soccer club that competed in the SISL, USISL and United Soccer Leagues from 1987 to 2000. The club originally started in 1987/88 as the Austin Sockadillos in the original indoor SISL league. They became the Austin Lone Stars in 1994. Gabe Jones (soccer)
Gabe Jones is a retired American soccer player who was the 1995 USISL MVP and leading scorer. He played one game for the Dallas Burn of Major League Soccer. Youth In 1991, Jones graduated from Georgetown High School. He attended St. Edwards University where he was an NAIA All American soccer player. He graduated in 1995 with a bachelor's degree in international studies. In 2002, St. Edwards University inducted Jones into its Athletic Hall of Fame. Professional In 1995, Jones played for the Austin Lone Stars in the USISL. He was the 1995 USISL MVP while leading the league in scoring. He was the second leading scorer in the 1997 U.S. Open Cup.
