USA Team Handball Nationals
The National is a team handball tournament to determine the Men's and Women's National Champion from the United States. At the men's side there exist an Elite and Open Division. In years with many teams, the Open Division is split in Division I and II. History The record champion at the Men's side is the New York Athletic Club with a total of 20 titles. Since the Men's Elite Division was established, New York City THC holds the most titles (7), followed by New York Athletic Club (6). The current US men reigning champion is San Francisco CalHeat. At the women's side, Chicago Inter HC holds 6 titles. The current US women reigning champion is New York City THC. A single-elimination, knockout, or sudden death tournament is a type of elimination tournament where the loser of each match-up is immediately eliminated from the tournament. Each winner will play another in the next round, until the final match-up, whose winner becomes the tournament champion. The New York Athletic Club is a private social club and athletic club in New York state. San Francisco CalHeat
San Francisco CalHeat is a handball club from the San Francisco Bay Area. It has approximately 100 members (adult and youth), and five teams (women, men and youth). The top women's and men's teams compete at the highest level in the United States and have won the national championships multiple times. The women's and men's teams are the current USA Team Handball reigning national champion. On the last weekend of January, San Francisco CalHeat traditionally hosts the California Cup tournament. This is a USA Team Handball sanctioned event and qualifier for the USA Team Handball Nationals. The main sponsors of the club are Waymo, RockTape and the DishDash Restaurant Group.
