Unión Deportiva Logroñés, S.A.D. is a List of football clubs in Spain, Spanish football team based in Logroño, in the autonomous community of La Rioja (Spain), La Rioja. Founded in 2009, it currently plays in , holding home matches at ''Estadio Las Gaunas'', with a capacity of 16,000 seats. History ''Unión Deportiva Logroñés'' was founded in 2009 after the extinction of CD Logroñés, occupying the seat of CD Varea, recently promoted to Segunda División B. They comfortably maintained their place in the division in their first season, (2009–10), and their reserve team, UD Logroñés B, finished in third position in the Divisiones Regionales de Fútbol in La Rioja, regional championship, thus promoting to Tercera División. UD Logroñés reached 5th place in the 2011–12 season. Estadio Las Gaunas
Estadio Municipal Las Gaunas is a football stadium in Logroño, La Rioja (Spain), La Rioja, Spain. The stadium holds 16,000 spectators and was opened on 28 February 2002. It is the home ground of Segunda Federación club UD Logroñés, and the women's Primera División (women), Primera División team EDF Logroño. History and events The stadium was opened in 2002 to replace the Estadio Las Gaunas (1923), old stadium with the same name. On 6 September 2011, it hosted the Spain national football team in a UEFA Euro 2012, Euro 2012 qualifier against Liechtenstein national football team, Liechtenstein, which the hosts won 6–0 with braces from Álvaro Negredo and David Villa. Earlier, on 16 October 2002, it staged a goalless friendly draw between Spain and Paraguay national football team, Paraguay.
