''Fujian'' (18; ), named after Fujian province, is the first of the Type 003 class aircraft carrier (NATO/ OSD Fujian-class CV), and is currently fitting out. Built for the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN), ''Fujian'' was launched on 17 June 2022 and is China’s first fixed-wing aircraft carrier with a fully indigenous design, featuring a CATOBAR system and electromagnetic catapults. The Type 003 class was originally unofficially called Type 002 when , China's then-incomplete second carrier, was believed to be designated Type 001A. ''Shandong''s official designation, Type 002, was revealed during commissioning. Observers hence believed the third carrier will be Type 003. Fujian-class Tanker
Fujian-class tanker is a class of naval auxiliary ship currently in service with the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN), and has received NATO reporting name Fujian class. The exact type designation still remains unknown, and a total of twenty of this class have been confirmed in active service as of early-2020s, both in transport oil tanker and water tanker versions. Fujian class ships in PLAN service are designated by a combination of two Chinese characters followed by a three-digit number. The second Chinese character is You (油), meaning oil in Chinese, because these ships are classified as oil tankers. Ski-jump (aviation)
In aviation, a ski-jump is an upward-curved ramp that allows aircraft to take off from a runway that is shorter than the aircraft's required takeoff roll. By forcing the aircraft upwards, lift-off can be achieved at a lower airspeed than that required for sustained flight, while allowing the aircraft to accelerate to such speed in the air rather than on the runway.
