Robert James Turbin (born December 2, 1989) is a former American football running back. He played college football for the Utah State Aggies, and was drafted in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Seahawks. With the Seahawks, he won Super Bowl XLVIII over the Denver Broncos. He has also played for the Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys, and Indianapolis Colts. He now has joined CBS Sports Network and calls College Football High school career Turbin played high school football at Irvington High School in Fremont, California. Nikolay Turbin
Nikolay Matveyevich Turbin (June 16 (June 4 O.S.), 1832 - after January 3, 1906) was a General in the Infantry (1902) and Russian archaeologist. He was a full member of the (1878) and the organizer and first chairman of the Moscow Numismatic Society (1888). Biography Nikolay Turbin was born into a noble family on June 4 (16 O.S.) 1832 in Yelets in Oryol Oblast. At the age of 9, he entered the St. Petersburg Pavlovsk Cadet Corps. Turbin graduated from the Cadet Corps on August 13, 1852, having been appointed to the Jaegersky E. I. V. Grand Duke Mikhail Nikolayevich Regiment. In 1853, the Grenadier Regiment was transferred as ensign in the Life Guards and in 1854 he began to study at the Nikolayev Academy of the General Staff, from which he graduated in 1856. Viktor Turbin
Viktor Andreevich Turbin (russian: Виктор Андреевич Турбин; 9 November 1923 – 8 August 1944) was a Red Army Junior Lieutenant and posthumous Hero of the Soviet Union. Turbin was posthumously awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union and the Order of Lenin for his actions while leading a platoon during Operation Bagration in summer 1944. His platoon reportedly held a bridgehead on the Drut River against numerically superior German troops until the crossing of the remainder of Turbin's regiment. Early life Turbin was born on 9 November 1923 in Bobrov in Voronezh Oblast to a working-class family. He graduated from high school in 1941. World War II Turbin was drafted into the Red Army in December 1941. He was sent into combat in January 1942 and was wounded. After recovering, he was sent to the Ulyanovsk Military Infantry School. Sergey Ivanovich Turbin (russian: Сергей Иванович Турбин; 1821–1884) was a Russian playwright and journalist. Biography Turbin, was a Moscow University graduate; later he joined the Nikolyevskaya Academy to receive the military education and start the military career. He served in the Russian army as an artillery officer, then moved to the General Staff office in Saint Petersburg, then, in the rank of a Colonel joined the infantry. Travelling on his missions all across Russia provided Turbin with a bulk of material for his subsequent literary career. Highly acclaimed were his ''Notes of an Old Artillery Man'' published in 1857 by ''Sovremennik'', as well as the accounts of his travels over Siberia (Saint Petersburgs's ''Vedomosti'', 1863-1865). The title Hero of the Soviet Union (russian: Герой Советского Союза, translit=Geroy Sovietskogo Soyuza) was the highest distinction in the Soviet Union, awarded together with the Order of Lenin personally or collectively for heroic feats in service to the Soviet state and society. Overview The award was established on 16 April 1934, by the Central Executive Committee of the Soviet Union. The first recipients of the title originally received only the Order of Lenin, the highest Soviet award, along with a certificate (грамота, ''gramota'') describing the heroic deed from the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR.
