Tuggeranong Football Club
The Tuggeranong Football Club is a semi-professional, community based Australian rules football club based in Tuggeranong, Australian Capital Territory. They competed in the North East Australian Football League from 2011–13 and as of 2014 are a member club of the AFL Canberra First Grade competition. The club also fields teams in the AFL Canberra rising stars (under 19) competition, third grade and women's competitions. History The club was actually formed as long ago as 1968 by a group of Department of Supply employees, recently transferred to Canberra from Melbourne. Adopting red and white as its colours, the team bore the name of Eastlake-Woden in recognition of the fact that it was sponsored by the Eastlake Football Club. Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Essendon Football Club
The Essendon Football Club, nicknamed the Bombers, is a professional Australian rules football club. The club plays in the Australian Football League (AFL), the game's premier competition. The club was formed by the McCracken family in their Ascot Vale home "Alisa", and while the exact date is unknown, it is generally accepted to have been in 1872. The club’s first recorded game took place on 7 June 1873 against a Carlton Second 20. Jacob Anstey (born 27 January 1978) is a former professional Australian rules footballer from the Australian Capital Territory who played for Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). A lightly framed goal sneak originally from AFL Canberra club Tuggeranong Hawks Football Club, Anstey was taken by Carlton with the 63rd selection in the 1995 AFL draft and made his senior debut in round 7 of the 1997 AFL season against Richmond Football Club at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, collecting eight disposals in a victorious Carlton side. Justin Blumfield
Justin Blumfield (born 24 November 1977) is a former Australian rules football player of the Essendon and the Richmond Football Clubs in the Australian Football League (AFL). His AFL career began in 1996 when he debuted for the Essendon Bombers. He was one of Essendon's consistent players in the years 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002. Blumfield was a member of the Essendon 2000 premiership team, which defeated Melbourne in the 2000 AFL Grand Final and won a record 24 out of 25 games for the season. At the end of 2002, he was traded to the Richmond Tigers to help Essendon meet the total player payments limit.
