Brittonic Languages
The Brittonic languages (also Brythonic or British Celtic; cy, ieithoedd Brythonaidd/Prydeinig; kw, yethow brythonek/predennek; br, yezhoù predenek) form one of the two branches of the Insular Celtic language family; the other is Goidelic. The name ''Brythonic'' was derived by Welsh Celticist John Rhys from the Welsh word , meaning Ancient Britons as opposed to an Anglo-Saxon or Gael. The Brittonic languages derive from the Common Brittonic language, spoken throughout Great Britain during the Iron Age and Roman period. In the 5th and 6th centuries emigrating Britons also took Brittonic speech to the continent, most significantly in Brittany and Britonia. Alexandru Dan Tudor (born 13 September 1971) is a retired Romanian football referee. He refereed his first match in the Romanian First Division on 15 May 1999, when he officiated a match between Universitatea Craiova and Universitatea Cluj. He was a FIFA-listed referee from 2001 to 2016, and refereed his first UEFA Champions League qualifying match on 31 July 2002. He took charge of a UEFA Cup first round match between Celta de Vigo and Odense Boldklub two months later, but it was not until 4 November 2008 that he refereed his first Champions League group stage match, when he officiated a match between Barcelona and Basel. John Tudor (footballer)
John Tudor (born 25 June 1946) is an English former footballer who played for Coventry City, Newcastle United, Sheffield United and Stoke City. Career Tudor began his football career playing for his local team, Ilkeston Town before turning professional with Coventry City. He scored eight goals in 17 matches in 1966–67 helping the "Sky Blues" win the Second Division title. He was not as prolific for Coventry in the First Division and after scoring just seven more goals he left for Sheffield United. He rediscovered his goalscoring form at Bramall Lane scoring 33 goals in 78 appearances which helped the "Blades" on their way to promotion in 1970–71. Tudor signed for Newcastle United in January 1971 and he developed a prolific partnership with Malcolm Macdonald. Igor Tudor
Igor Tudor (born 16 April 1978) is a Croatian professional football manager and former player who is the current manager of Ligue 1 club Marseille. Tudor spent most of his playing career at Juventus, winning several trophies during that time. He was a part of the Croatia national team at UEFA Euro 2004, the 2006 and 1998 World Cup, but missed the 2002 World Cup due to injury. Tudor announced his retirement on 22 July 2008 at age 30 after problems with his right ankle reappeared. He spent his final season playing for his youth club, Hajduk Split. Henri Owen Tudor (30 September 1859 – 31 May 1928) was a Luxembourg engineer, inventor, and industrialist. He developed the first commercially usable lead-acid battery. Frederic Tudor
Frederic Tudor (September 4, 1783 – February 6, 1864) was an American businessman and merchant. Known as Boston's "Ice King", he was the founder of the Tudor Ice Company and a pioneer of the international ice trade in the early 19th century. He made a fortune shipping ice cut from New England ponds to ports in the Caribbean, Europe, and as far away as India and Hong Kong. Frank Tudor
Francis Gwynne Tudor (29 January 1866 – 10 January 1922) was an Australian politician who served as the leader of the Australian Labor Party from 1916 until his death. He had previously been a government minister under Andrew Fisher and Billy Hughes. Tudor was born in Melbourne to Welsh immigrant parents. He left school at a young age to enter the workforce, serving an apprenticeship in the felt hat industry and later studying his trade for periods in England and the United States. He became involved in trade unionism in England, and after returning to Australia served as president of the Felt Hatters' Union. David Eugene Tudor (January 20, 1926 – August 13, 1996) was an American pianist and composer of experimental music. Life and career Tudor was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He studied piano with Irma Wolpe and composition with Stefan Wolpe and became known as one of the leading performers of avant garde piano music. He gave the first American performance of the '' Piano Sonata No. 2'' by Pierre Boulez in 1950, and a European tour in 1954 greatly enhanced his reputation.
