Tsz Wan Shan
Tsz Wan Shan () is a residential area in Kowloon, Hong Kong. Located below Temple Hill, it is administratively part of Wong Tai Sin District. (Note that Temple Hill is also called ''Tsz Wan Shan'' , but Tsz Wan Shan usually refers to the area). It is a densely populated residential area, consisting of several large public housing estates. The old Tsz Wan Shan housing blocks (64 buildings in total) were demolished between late 1980s and mid 1990s. Features Po Kong Village Road Park is located at 140 Po Kong Village Road. There are elevated cycling track (about 1 kilometre in length), cycling area and skater park. Three vertical rams of different difficulty levels are constructed for co-use by players of extreme sports, namely freestyle BMX, skateboarding and aggressive inline skating. New Kowloon
New Kowloon is an area in Hong Kong, bounded in the south by Boundary Street, and in the north by the ranges of the Eagle's Nest, Beacon Hill, Lion Rock, Tate's Cairn and Kowloon Peak. Public Housing Estates In Tsz Wan Shan
The following shows the Resettlement Housing estates in Tsz Wan Shan, Wong Tai Sin District, Kowloon, Hong Kong. History Known as Tsz Wan Shan, or Temple Hill, the block design of the Tsz Wan Shan Resettlement Housing was different from that of Shek Kip Mei Resettlement Estate, with room access from the internal corridor. Each room had its own private balcony, water tap and toilet. In 1980, the estate was split into Tsz Lok Estate, Tsz Oi Estate, Tsz Ching Estate, Tsz Man Estate and Tsz On Estate. In 1985, Blocks 40, 61 to 65 were found to have structural problems by the Hong Kong Housing Authority. Sha Tin To Central Link
The Sha Tin to Central Link (abbreviated SCL; ) is an extension of the MTR rapid transit network. It is divided into two sections. The first section, named "Tuen Ma line (Phase 1)”, runs from Tai Wai station in the New Territories to Hung Hom station in Kowloon. The Tai Wai–Hung Hom segment connected the Ma On Shan line and West Rail line, forming the new Tuen Ma line. Operation of the Tai Wai to Kai Tak section began on 14 February 2020. The opening of the section from Kai Tak to Hung Hom was delayed and opened on 27 June 2021. In anticipation of the Tuen Ma line, the existing Kwun Tong line was extended from its previous terminus at Yau Ma Tei station, Yau Ma Tei to Whampoa station. Castle Peak Road
Castle Peak Road is the longest road in Hong Kong. Completed in 1920, it runs in the approximate shape of an arc of a semi-circle. It runs West from Tai Po Road in Sham Shui Po, New Kowloon, to Tuen Mun, then north to Yuen Long then east to Sheung Shui, in the very north of the New Territories. It is divided into 22 sections. It serves south, west and north New Territories, being one of the most distant roads in early Hong Kong. Name The road was named after Castle Peak, a peak in the western New Territories.
