Trujillo Book Festival
Trujillo Book Festival is an international literary festival held in Trujillo, a Peruvian city. The last edition in 2012 took place on March from days 1 to 12 in the '' Plazuela El Recreo'' an historical square of the city and had the participation of Peruvian writers as Arturo Corcuera and Jorge Diaz Herrera, writer honored, and also the young Colombian poet Lucia Estrada History In the year 2009 took place the 4th edition of this festival, it was conducted at the Complejo Mansiche with the assistance of writers Laura Restrepo, Gonzalo Rojas and Alfredo Bryce Echenique, among others. Plaza De Armas Of Trujillo (Peru)
Plaza de Armas of Trujillo is the main square where the Spanish foundation of Trujillo was made, in northern Peru. It has been the principal locus of history in this city in the republic era. It is located in the central zone of the Historic Centre of Trujillo. In the streets that form this main square are located the buildings of ''Municipality Palace'', the Cathedral, among others. The ''Plaza de Armas of Trujillo'' is formed by the Pizarro, Independencia, Orbegoso and Almagro streets. In this square, the proclamation of the independence of Trujillo took place. Trujillo (; qu, Truhillu) is a city in coastal northwestern Peru and the capital of the Department of La Libertad. Plazuela El Recreo
The Plazuela El Recreo is a traditional square located in the Peruvian city of Trujillo in La Libertad Region in northern Peru. Situated at the 8th block of the Pizarro street in the Historic Centre of Trujillo in this square are held cultural shows and in March 2012 was the scenery of Trujillo Book Festival. The square has high ficus around. This square has been declared Monumental Heritage of the Nation by the National Institute of Culture of Peru. Description In the center of the square is a marble fountain Italian Baroque style that was in the Plaza de Armas of Trujillo and was moved there in the 1930s, around the fountain there are 4 statues distributed in each frame corner fenced surrounding. Alfredo Bryce Echenique
Alfredo Bryce Echenique (born February 19, 1939) is a Peruvian writer born in Lima. He has written numerous books and short stories. Early days Bryce was born to a Peruvian family of upper class, related to the Scottish-Peruvian businessman John Weddle Bryce (1817 in Edinburgh – 9 March 1888), ancestor of the Marquesses of Milford-Haven and of the Duchesses of Abercon and Westminster. He was the third son and the fourth of the five children of the banker Francisco Bryce Arróspide and his wife, Elena Echenique Basombrío, granddaughter of the former President José Rufino Echenique. Bryce studied elementary education at Inmaculado Corazón school, and high school at Santa María school and Saint Paul's College, a British boarding school for boys in Lima. Trujillo Marinera Festival is a Peruvian cultural event held annually in Trujillo city in January. The event focuses on a dance contest called the marinera, a typical dance of the city and of the country. The festival also presents parades, presentations and competitions of Peruvian paso horses. Both the marinera dance and the Peruvian paso horse have been declared to be part of the ''cultural heritage of the nation'' by the Peruvian government.
