Arturo Torres (soccer)
Arturo Torres (born December 11, 1980) is an American soccer player, the first player in the history of Chivas USA of Major League Soccer. Torres played college soccer at Loyola Marymount University from 1999 to 2002. As a freshman, although he only started 13 of 18 games, Torres scored 16 goals and 4 assists, and was a first-team All-WCC selection. Torres had continued success in 2000, registering 11 goals and 10 assists, and was named the WCC Co-Player of the Year. As a junior, Torres was again a first-team All-WCC selection, after scoring 11 goals and 3 assists. As a senior, he scored 8 goals and 13 assists, and was named to the All-WCC first team for the fourth straight year. He finished his career at LMU with 46 goals and 22 assists. Georgie Torres
Georgie Torres Dougherty (born October 15, 1957) is an American former professional basketball player. He is a well known former BSN basketball player. Torres broke the record for the most points scored in a career at that league, with over 15,800 points scored. He was the first player to reach that number of points. The Puerto Rican professional basketball league only holds 30 to 34 games each year; players who score over 5,000 career points there are usually considered to be among the great Puerto Rican basketball players. Torres debuted in the BSN in 1975, with the "Cariduros de Fajardo". Torres became a household name in Puerto Rico while with that team. He led the league in points scored from 1984 to 1987. Despite helping the Cariduros to the playoffs multiple times during his era there, the Cariduros failed to win a championship. Francisco Javier Torres
Francisco Javier Torres Zamora (born 12 May 1983) is a Mexican former footballer who last played for Lobos BUAP of Liga MX. Torres was born in León, Guanajuato. He made his debut against La Piedad, in a semifinal match in which he played three minutes. Torres got his first start against Pachuca in the first game of the Clausura 2003. In his third game as a professional soccer player, Torres scored a spectacular goal against Chivas which tied the game 1–1. The following season, Leo Beenhakker became the new coach of Club América and he relegated Torres. He did not play a single minute. Clausura 2004 was not much better as Torres only made 2 appearances for a total of 33 minutes. Apertura 2004 brought a new hope for Torres.
