Catherine "Kitty" Beattie Toll (born August 8, 1959) is an American educator and politician. A former member of the Vermont House of Representatives, Toll was a candidate for lieutenant governor of Vermont in the 2022 election, and lost the Democratic nomination to David Zuckerman. Early life and education Toll was born in Danville, Vermont, to Catherine and Harold Beattie. Her sister is Jane Kitchel. Her mother and sister served in the Vermont General Assembly. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from Lyndon State College in 1981 and a Master of Education from University of Vermont. Career Prior to entering politics, Toll taught in the Vermont public school system. Eduard Gustav Freiherr von Toll (russian: Эдуа́рд Васи́льевич Толль, translit=Eduárd Vasíl'evič Toll'; 1902), better known in Russia as Eduard Vasilyevich Toll and often referred to as Baron von Toll, was a Russian geologist and Arctic explorer. He is most notable for leading the Russian polar expedition of 1900–1902 in search of the legendary Sannikov Land, a phantom island purported to lie off Russia's Arctic coast. Herman Toll (March 15, 1907July 26, 1967) from 1959 to 1967 served Pennsylvania as a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives. He supported the civil rights movement, and sponsored legislation to create several federal agencies, including the U.S. Department of Urban Affairs and Housing. Count Johan Christopher Toll (1 February 1743 – 21 May 1817), Swedish statesman and soldier, was born at Mölleröd in Scania (now part of Hässleholm Municipality, Skåne County). Toll came of an ancient family, of Dutch origin, which can be traced back to the 13th century, but migrated to the Baltic provinces in the 16th century. Toll's father was one of Charles XII's warriors, his mother a descendant of the aristocratic Gyllenstjernas. Toll's senior commands include commanding officer of the 4th Army Division and the position of Commandant General in Stockholm. Sergiusz Toll
Sergiusz Graf von Toll (22 November 1893 – 19 December 1961) was a Polish entomologist who specialised in microlepidoptera and particularly Coleophoridae. He was a member of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Education Toll was born on 22 November 1893 in Warsaw, the son of Alexander Toll and his wife Adelaide (or Anna). He had four elder brothers and sisters. He came from a noble family; his great-grandfather, General Karol Toll, was made a count by Nicholas I of Russia and the family owned Uniejów Castle at Łódź Voivodeship in central Poland. He received his schooling in Warsaw and went to the University of Warsaw where he studied law. During World War I, the university was evacuated to Rostov-on-Don in Russia, and while there, he added biology to the subjects he was studying. In 1918, he was awarded his PhD in law. Steve Toll (born June 16, 1974 in St. Catharines, Ontario) is a former lacrosse player and current executive in the Canadian Lacrosse League. In his 14-year National Lacrosse League career, Toll won five NLL Championships four with the Toronto Rock and one with the Rochester Knighthawks. He was a transition specialist, and in 2007 was awarded the first ever National Lacrosse League Transition Player of the Year Award. In October 2011, Toll announced that he was retiring from the NLL to become the Director of Operations for the Durham and Oshawa franchises of the new Canadian Lacrosse League (CLax).
