Tim Brent
Tim Brent (born March 10, 1984) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey forward who played over 200 games in the National Hockey League (NHL), most notably for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Carolina Hurricanes. Playing career Junior hockey Brent grew up in the Cambridge, Ontario, area playing minor ice hockey for the Hespeler Shamrocks of the OMHA and the Cambridge Hawks of the Alliance Pavilion League. He played in the 1998 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a team from Cambridge. At age 15, Brent signed with the Cambridge Winterhawks Jr.B. team of the OHA Midwestern Ontario Hockey League in the 1999–2000 season. After completing his Jr.B. season, Brent was the 2nd overall selection of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL)'s Toronto St. Michael's Majors in the 2000 OHL Priority Selection. Ontario Hockey League
The Ontario Hockey League (OHL; french: Ligue de hockey de l'Ontario (LHO)) is one of the three major junior ice hockey leagues which constitute the Canadian Hockey League. The league is for players aged 16–19. There are exceptions for overage players of 20 years of age. There are currently 20 teams in the OHL; seventeen in Ontario, two in Michigan, and one in Pennsylvania. Danny Richmond
Daniel "Danny" Richmond (born August 1, 1984) is an American former professional ice hockey defenseman who most recently played for Eisbären Berlin of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). He is the son of former NHL defenseman, Steve Richmond. Playing career Amateur career As a youth, Richmond played in the 1998 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team representing the State of Illinois. Prior to playing professionally, Richmond played one season each in three different leagues. In 2001–02, Richmond was named the league Rookie of the Year playing for the Chicago Steel of the United States Hockey League, and was named first-team USHL All-Star. Calder Cup
The Calder Cup is the trophy awarded annually to the playoff champions of the American Hockey League. It was first presented in 1937 to the Syracuse Stars. The cup is made of sterling silver mounted on a base of Brazilian mahogany. In its current shape, the trophy has a two-tiered square base with commemorative plaques for each of the AHL's 20 most recent champions: 12 on the bottom tier and 8 on the top tier. Each time a new championship plaque is added, the oldest plaque is retired and joins a display at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto. The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins are a professional ice hockey team in the American Hockey League, and are the AHL affiliates of the National Hockey League's Pittsburgh Penguins. Stephen Dixon (ice Hockey)
Stephen Dixon (born September 7, 1985) is a Canadian professional ice hockey centre currently playing for Glasgow Clan of the EIHL, whom he joined in 2022. Playing career A first round pick for Cape Breton Screaming Eagles (QMJHL) in the 2001 Midget Draft, the Halifax native played his entire junior career with Cape Breton, despite being traded to the Val-d'Or Foreurs before the start of the 2005 season. Dixon was drafted in the seventh round, 229th overall, by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. He played all 80 games with the Wilkes-Barre Scranton penguins for the 2005–2006 and 2006–2007 season. The Penguins traded him to the Anaheim Ducks on June 23, 2007, in exchange for Tim Brent. The Stanley Cup (french: La Coupe Stanley) is the championship trophy awarded annually to the National Hockey League (NHL) playoff champion. The Portland Pirates were a minor league professional ice hockey team in the American Hockey League (AHL). Their home arena was the Cross Insurance Arena in downtown Portland, Maine. The franchise was previously known as the Baltimore Skipjacks from 1982 to 1993. 2004–05 AHL Season
The 2004–05 AHL season was the 69th season of the American Hockey League. Twenty-eight teams played 80 games each in the schedule. The Rochester Americans finished first overall in the regular season. The Philadelphia Phantoms won the Calder Cup, defeating the Chicago Wolves in the finals. This season featured a wealth of talent in the AHL, as the National Hockey League was in the midst of a lockout which would cause that league's 2004–05 season to be canceled on February 16, 2005. Many players who otherwise may have been called up to be members of NHL teams for the season spent the full season in the AHL instead. The 2003 IIHF World U20 Championship, commonly referred as the 2003 World Junior Hockey Championships (''2003 WJHC''), was the 27th edition of the Ice Hockey World Junior Championship.
