The X Factor (American TV Series)
''The X Factor'' is an American reality television music competition show created by Simon Cowell and produced by FremantleMedia North America and SYCOtv, a partnership between Cowell and Sony Music Entertainment, which aired on Fox. Based on the original UK show, and an addition to ''The X Factor'' franchise, the series found new singing talent (solo artists and groups ages 12 and over), drawn from public auditions, and they competed against each other for votes. The winner is determined by the show's viewers via telephone, the Internet, and SMS text voting, and is awarded a recording contract with Cowell's record label Syco Music, worth $5 million in seasons one and two, and $1 million in season three. Alex & Sierra were an American duo consisting of Alex Kinsey (born September 8, 1991) and Sierra Deaton (born February 11, 1991), who won the third and final season of '' The X Factor US''. They were mentored by Simon Cowell. Their debut album '' It's About Us'' was released on October 7, 2014, on Columbia Records. Their EP ''As Seen on TV'' was released on September 30, 2016. Tate Stevens
Stephen "Tater" Eatinger (born March 1, 1975), known by his stage name Tate Stevens, is an American country music artist, who won the second season of the U.S. ''The X Factor'' in 2012, securing a $5 million recording contract with Syco Music and RCA Records Nashville. After touring with a band for several years immediately after high school, Stevens returned to Missouri to settle down and raise his young family, working in the city of Raymore. He joined a local band in 2005 and formed his own band in 2008, releasing an independent album and touring on weekends and holidays. Melanie Ann Amaro (born June 26, 1992) is an American singer who won the first season of ''The X Factor USA'' in 2011, securing a $5 million recording contract with Syco Music and Epic Records. Amaro was also the youngest contestant to win the competition during the show's run (2011-2013). Early life Amaro was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and raised on Tortola, British Virgin Islands since the age of three. Amaro was sent to the British Virgin Islands to live with her grandmother Catherine, after her parents Hipolito Amaro and Debra Sylvester Amaro felt they did not have the means to provide for her. Syco Music is a defunct division of Syco Entertainment founded by British entrepreneur and record executive Simon Cowell. Originally founded as S Records, the label launched while Cowell was still employed by BMG, the label oversaw music releases by Robson & Jerome, Five, Westlife and Teletubbies. A year later, BMG, now named Sony BMG, bought Cowell's share in both Syco Music and Syco Television.
