The Thirteenth Year
''The Thirteenth Year'' is a 1999 comedy-drama Disney Channel Original Movie (DCOM) directed by Duwayne Dunham and starring Chez Starbuck and Courtnee Draper. It premiered on Disney Channel on May 15, 1999. Plot Cody Griffin is an adopted teenager; his birth mother is a mermaid who left him on Whit and Sharon Griffin's boat when he was a baby to avoid being captured. As she left, she lured a fisherman, Big John Wheatley, away and he became obsessed with finding mermaids since. Years later, Cody establishes himself as a quick swimmer on his school's swim team, and he has a girlfriend named Samantha. He is under a lot of pressure from a big swim meet coming up and because he is failing biology, he is partnered with Jess Wheatley, the class geek (and Big John's son) who is a marine biology expert. Duwayne Dunham
Duwayne Robert Dunham (born November 17, 1952) is an American director and editor of film and television, as well as an adjunct professor at the USC School of Cinematic Arts. He is best known for his collaborations with George Lucas and David Lynch, serving as editor on ''Return of the Jedi'' and '' Blue Velvet''. After being hired for Lynch's series ''Twin Peaks'', he was promoted to director and made his debut with the second episode of the series. He subsequently directed the films '' Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey'' and ''Little Giants'', and numerous television films for the Disney Channel including '' Halloweentown'', ''The Thirteenth Year'', '' Ready to Run'', ''Right on Track'', and '' Tiger Cruise''. Regan Burns
Regan Burns (born June 14, 1968) is an American actor and comedian. He is best known for his role as Bennett James on ''Dog with a Blog,'' as well as being the host of the hidden camera game show '' Oblivious.'' Burns is also known for various roles in TV commercials and programs in the United States and the United Kingdom. Career Burns attended Radford University on a gymnastics scholarship, but gave it up to pursue theater instead. After graduating from Radford in 1990, he studied acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Point Fermin Light
Point Fermin Light is a lighthouse on Point Fermin in San Pedro, California. History The lighthouse was built in 1874 with lumber from California redwoods. It was designed by Paul J. Pelz who also designed Point Fermin's sister stations, East Brother Island Light in Richmond, California, Mare Island Light, in Carquinez Strait, California (demolished in the 1930s), Point Hueneme Light in California (replaced in 1940), Hereford Inlet Light in North Wildwood, New Jersey, and Point Adams Light in Washington State (burned down by the Lighthouse Service in 1912), all in essentially the same style. In 1941, the light was extinguished due to the bombing of Pearl Harbor. There was fear that the light would serve as a beacon for enemy planes and ships.
