The Terrible People (1960 Film)
''The Terrible People'' (german: Die Bande des Schreckens, translation=''The Band of Terror'') is a 1960 West German crime film directed by Harald Reinl and starring Joachim Fuchsberger, Karin Dor and Fritz Rasp. It is based on Edgar Wallace's 1926 novel of the same name. It was shot at the Bendestorf Studios near Hamburg with location shooting at Tremsbüttel Castle in Schleswig-Holstein. The film's sets were designed by the art director Erik Aaes. Cast Production The film is based on Edgar Wallace's 1926 novel of the same name. Harald Reinl
Harald Reinl (8 July 1908 in Bad Ischl, Austria – 9 October 1986 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain) was an Austrian film director. He is known for the films he made based on Edgar Wallace and Karl May books (see Karl May movies and Edgar Wallace movies) and also made mountain films, Heimatfilms, German war films and entries in such popular German film series as ''Dr. Mabuse'', ''Jerry Cotton'' and ''Kommissar X''. Reinl began his career as an extra in the mountain films of Arnold Fanck. He worked as screenwriter on the film '' Tiefland'' directed by and starring Leni Riefenstahl. Reinl's first movie as director was the mountain film ''Mountain Crystal'' (1949). He was Oscar nominated for his documentary feature '' Chariots of the Gods'' (1970). By the 1970s, he had semi-retired to the Canary Islands. The Freiwillige Selbstkontrolle der Filmwirtschaft (FSK, ''Self-Regulatory Body of the Movie Industry'') is a German motion picture rating system organization run by the '' Spitzenorganisation der Filmwirtschaft'' (SPIO, Head Organisation of the Movie Industry) based in Wiesbaden. Assignment The main tasks of the FSK are approving and rating movies and trailers, videos and DVDs, and commercials. There is no legal obligation for approval by the FSK; however, members of the SPIO commit themselves to only releasing productions passed by the FSK. Movies not rated by the FSK may only be sold and rented to adults, regardless of their content.
