The Tasmanian Babes Fiasco
''The Tasmanian Babes Fiasco'' is a 1997 sequel novel by John Birmingham. It involves several prominent characters from the first novel, ''He Died with a Felafel in His Hand'', primarily Taylor the Cabbie, Jabba the Hutt, Thunderbird Ron, Brainthrust Leonard, Missy, Elroy and Stacy. The first book is written in diary form whereas the sequel is written as a novel. ''The Tasmanian Babes Fiasco'' was first published in 1997 and reprinted in 1997 and 1998. Plot The residents of a sharehouse in York Street, Taringa take in a new boarder calling himself Jordan. At first the housemates are suspicious yet tolerant of their new tenant and his strange behaviour. However, it is soon discovered that Jordan has absconded with five weeks' worth of the household's rent and utility money. What is more, he has been using the address to perpetrate fraud against the Department of Social Security, bringing the government agency's suspicion upon the house's dole-collecting members. John Birmingham
John Birmingham (born 7 August 1964) is a British-born Australian author, known for the 1994 memoir ''He Died with a Felafel in His Hand'', and his ''Axis of Time'' trilogy. Early life and education Birmingham was born in Liverpool, United Kingdom, but grew up in Ipswich, Queensland, Australia, having moved to the country with his parents in 1970. Birmingham received his higher education at Saint Edmund's College in Ipswich and at the University of Queensland in Brisbane. Birmingham's only stint of full-time employment was as a researcher at the Australian Department of Defence but he has worked for the television program ''A Current Affair''. Career Birmingham returned to Queensland to study law but he did not complete his legal studies, choosing instead to pursue a career as an author. Darren Roach (born December 29, 1986, in Saint John, New Brunswick) is a Canadian curler. He currently throws third stones for the Jason Roach rink from Saint John, New Brunswick. Roach twice (2004 and 2005) won the New Brunswick men's junior championships playing second on a team skipped by Ryan Sherrard. The team won the Canadian Junior Curling Championships in their first attempt in 2004. They had finished the round robin with a 9–3 record, in a three way tie for first. The team would go on to win both of their playoff games, including the final against Manitoba's Daley Peters. The team then represented Canada at the 2004 World Junior Curling Championships. The team finished the round robin with a 5–4 record, tied with Korea. However, they lost in the tie-breaker match against the Koreans.
