''The Siasat Daily'' is an Indian newspaper published by the Siasat Press based in the city of Hyderabad, Telangana. It operates the Hindi-Urdu and English language digital news website ''Siasat'' and is the publisher of the ''Siasat English Weekly'' magazine and the ''Siasat Urdu Daily'' newspaper whose editions are also available as electronic papers. The editions of the paper were formerly published by the Intekhab Press. The Intekhab Press continues to publish editions of the ''Siasat Urdu Daily''. The publication has an advertising partnership with ''The Hindu'', ''Eenadu'' and ''Daily Hindi Milap.'' It also operates the website dedicated to the writings of satirist Mujtaba Hussain, who was a former columnist at ''The Siasat Daily''. Annexation Of Hyderabad
Operation Polo was the code name of the Hyderabad "police action" in September 1948, by the then newly independent Dominion of India against Hyderabad State. It was a military operation in which the Indian Armed Forces invaded the Nizam-ruled princely state, annexing it into the Indian Union. At the time of Partition in 1947, the princely states of India, who in principle had self-government within their own territories, were subject to subsidiary alliances with the British, giving them control of their external relations. With the Indian Independence Act 1947, the British abandoned all such alliances, leaving the states with the option of opting for full independence. The ''Economic and Political Weekly'' (''EPW'') is a weekly peer-reviewed academic journal covering all social sciences, and is published by the Sameeksha Trust. In January 2018, academic Gopal Guru was named the new Editor of the journal. Guru will be Editor for a period of five years. The previous full-time editor was Paranjoy Guha Thakurta. The Trust had earlier appointed Guha Thakurta as the new editor of the journal with effect from 1 April 2016. ''Hind Samachar'' () is a daily Urdu newspaper that is circulated in Mumbai. It was one of the three newspaper started by the Punjab Kesari Group back in 1948. Combined these three newspapers have combined circulation of 975,000 copies on weekdays and 1.05 million copies on weekends. The head office is located in Civil Lines in Mumbai, and the newspaper is printed from Jalandhar, Ambala and Jammu. History At the height of Punjab insurgency in the 1980s, founder Jagat Narain, who opposed terrorism was killed by terrorists in 1981, his son Ramesh Chander, an editor of the paper formed a 'Shaheed Parivar Fund' (Martyr Family Fund) for victims of terrorism in 1983, though a year later he himself was killed by terrorists. Indian nationalism is an instance of territorial nationalism, which is inclusive of all of the people of India, despite their diverse ethnic, linguistic and religious backgrounds. Indian nationalism can trace roots to pre-colonial India, but was fully developed during the Indian independence movement which campaigned for independence from British rule. Indian nationalism quickly rose to popularity in India through these united anti-colonial coalitions and movements.
