''The Origin'' is a 2022 British horror film directed by Andrew Cumming in his feature length debut and starring Safia Oakley-Green and Chuku Modu. The film was nominated for five awards at the 2023 British Independent Film Awards, winning best breakthrough performance for Oakley-Green. Safia Grace Oakley-Green (born June 2001) is an English actress. She won a British Independent Film Award for her performance in the horror film ''Out of Darkness'' (2022). She was named a 2023 ''Screen International'' Star of Tomorrow. Early life Oakley-Green was born in Southwark, London before moving to Derbyshire. She trained at the Television Workshop in Nottingham. She studies psychology at university. Gairloch ( ; gd, Geàrrloch , meaning "Short Loch") is a village, civil parish and community on the shores of Loch Gairloch in Wester Ross, in the North-West Highlands of Scotland. Chukuma Modu (born 19 June 1990) is an English actor best known for his roles in ''Game of Thrones'', '' The Good Doctor'' and ''The 100''. Biography Modu was born to a Nigerian-German father and an Anglo-Irish mother in Chiswick, West London. He initially had an interest in sports, particularly boxing, and trained at the age of twelve.
