The Iron Maidens are an American heavy metal band from Los Angeles, formed in 2001 as an all-female tribute act to English heavy metal band Iron Maiden. The band currently consists of drummer Linda McDonald, bassist Wanda Ortiz, lead vocalist Kirsten Rosenberg and guitarists Courtney Cox and Nikki Stringfield. History The Iron Maidens were originally formed in June 2001 by lead vocalist Jenny Warren and bassist Melanie Sisneros, formerly of the Iron Maiden tribute band ''Wrathchild''. drummer Linda McDonald and guitarist Josephine Draven, both formerly of Phantom Blue, and guitarist Sara Marsh, joined Warren and Sisneros shortly afterward to form the band's first lineup. Courtney Cox (musician)
Courtney Cox is an American guitarist and member of the all-female tribute band The Iron Maidens. Career A native of Philadelphia, Courtney Cox started playing guitar around age 13. At 15, she enrolled at The Paul Green School of Rock Music. During her tenure there, she performed in U.S tours with acts including Jon Anderson and Adrian Belew, performing with such artists as George Lynch and Perry Farrell. During that time, Cox co-founded an all-female King Diamond tribute band called ''Queen Diamond''. At age 19, Cox moved to Los Angeles. In December 2008, she was invited to be a guest performer with the Iron Maidens, and later she became an official member of the band. Wacken Open Air (, abbreviated as W:O:A) is a rock music festival, held annually since 1990 on the first weekend of August in the village of Wacken in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Almost all styles and subgenres of hard rock and metal are represented and hosted. A tribute act, tribute band or tribute group is a music group, singer, or musician who specifically plays the music of a well-known music act. Philip Anthony Campbell (born 7 May 1961) is a Welsh Rock music, rock musician, best known as the lead guitarist in Motörhead from 1984 to 2015. The band disbanded upon the death of founder and frontman Lemmy. He currently tours with his own band Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons, featuring his three sons: Todd, Dane and Tyla. The album features selected tracks originally performed by British heavy metal band Iron Maiden. Michael Kenney, keyboardist for Iron Maiden, appears as a guest musician on the Japanese import version. The album was recorded by the band's third-generation lineup, which consisted of co-founders Linda McDonald (drums), Sara Marsh (guitar) and Josephine Draven (guitar), along with Wanda Ortiz on bass and Aja Kim on lead vocals. Draven left the band a few months after the album was released.
