The Grays – Gray Panthers
The Grays – Gray Panthers () was a small German political party and interest group which existed between 1989 and 2008. The party was founded by former Die Grünen MP and activist Trude Unruh, having emerged from the Senior Citizens Protection Association which she had started in 1975. Their main areas of focus were the protection of the interests of seniors and the securing of stable pensions. They were also active on environmental issues. The Grays participated in the 1990 federal elections for the first time. In 2006 the Grays won 3.8% of the vote in the federal state elections in Berlin, their best result in a regional election. Unruh served as party president until September 2007, when she was succeeded by Norbert Raeder, who resigned at the end of January 2008, only four months after taking up the position. Green politics, or ecopolitics, is a political ideology that aims to foster an ecologically sustainable society often, but not always, rooted in environmentalism, nonviolence, social justice and grassroots democracy. Gray Panthers
The Gray Panthers are a series of multi-generational local advocacy networks in the United States which confront ageism and many other social justice issues. The organization was formed by Maggie Kuhn in response to her forced retirement from the Presbyterian Church at the age of 65 in 1970. The Gray Panthers are named in reference to the Black Panthers. Grey Power
Grey Power (or Greypower) was an Australian political party and lobby group, first registered in 1983. At the federal elections of 1984 and 1987 it ran candidates, but on both occasions these candidates (who included former Liberal cabinet minister Bill Wentworth) did poorly. The group was designed to represent the elderly vote, advocating issues dealing with aged care and a mature perspective on national policy; hence the name "grey power". The party's state president in New South Wales was Robert Clark, an anti-immigration campaigner and the founder of the Immigration Control Association, which advocated for a return to the White Australia policy.
