Thalwil
Thalwil is a municipality and town in the district of Horgen in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland. In addition to the town of Thalwil, the municipality includes the village of Gattikon. History Thalwil is first mentioned around 1030 as ''Talwile villam'', which is derived from ''Tellewilare'', Tello's Farm, and indicates the early medieval origins of Thalwil as an Alemannic farmstead. Only a few graves remain from this period. In 1133, it was mentioned as ''Telwil''. Rüschlikon
Rüschlikon is a municipality in the district of Horgen in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland. It is located on the west shore of Lake Zürich. Horgen
Horgen is a municipality in the district of Horgen in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland. It is one of the larger towns along the south bank of the Lake of Zurich. On 1 January 2018 the former municipality of Hirzel merged into the municipality of Horgen. History Horgen is also the type-site of Switzerland's middle Neolithic archaeological culture. The settlement there, the so-called ''Horgner Kultur'' (Horgen culture), produced examples of a type of crude pottery with parallels to the Seine-Oise-Marne culture of northern France. Erlenbach () is a municipality in the district of Meilen in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland. History Erlenbach is first mentioned in 981 as ''Liber Heremi'' though this identification is questionable. Between 1173-90 it was mentioned as ''Erlibach''. Archeological digs have shown that there were settlements in Erlenbach more than 5,000 years ago. During Roman times an important road passed through what is now Erlenbach. The Alemanni settled in this village in the 6th century. In 981 the name ''Erlibach'' was first mentioned when the monastery of Einsiedeln acquired the land. Around 1400 the city of Zürich bought the land. Two castles ''Balp'' and ''Dachsberg'' are mentioned in old writings, but there is no evidence left. Zimmerberg (el. ) is a mountain and a region located in the district of Horgen in the canton of Zurich, Switzerland. Its name bases on the Old High German word ''zimbar'' in the meaning of lumber. Geography Zimmerberg mountain is located some in the southeast of the city of Zürich, between Langnau am Albis in the Sihl Valley (German: ''Sihltal'') and Rüschlikon and Horgen on the Lake Zurich, overlooking Sihl valley, the Albis hills, Lake Zurich and Pfannenstiel. Horgen District is a district of Canton of Zürich in Switzerland. The district is located in the Zimmerberg and Sihl Valley region on the left shore of Lake Zürich; its district capital is Horgen. La Tour-de-Peilz () is a municipality in Riviera-Pays-d'Enhaut District in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland.
