Terry Mackenroth
Terence Michael Mackenroth (16 July 1949 – 30 April 2018) was an Australian politician from Queensland, who was a member of the Labor Party. He served almost 28 years with a notable parliamentary service history and a number of ministerial roles including Treasurer and Deputy Premier. Early life Prior to his entry into politics, Mackenroth was principal in a steel fabrication and building company. Political career Mackenroth was first elected on 12 November 1977 in the southern Brisbane seat of Chatsworth. Mackenroth was Minister for Police and Emergency Services and Leader of the House from 7 December 1989 to 10 December 1991, then Minister for Housing and Local Government until the Goss government lost power on 19 February 1996. Northern Pride RLFC
Northern Pride Rugby League Football Club is a Queensland rugby league club founded in 2007. Based in Cairns, Queensland they compete in the QRL State competition, the Hostplus Cup, formerly the Wizard Queensland Cup. The club represents Far North Queensland. History The Northern Pride was one of two expansion teams for the 2008 season of the QRL Wizard Queensland Cup, along with the Mackay Cutters, against whom they played their debut game. Both teams are feeder clubs to the North Queensland Cowboys. Cairns was represented in the QRL State Competition from 1996–2000 by the Cairns Cyclones, but a lack of support resulted in their withdrawal. Central Queensland Capras are a semi-professional rugby league football club primarily based in Rockhampton, Queensland and representing Central Queensland. They currently play in the Queensland Cup, the premier rugby league competition in Queensland. From 2023, they will serve as one of the feeder clubs for the Dolphins. The club was founded in 1996 under the name Central Capras; in 2000 the name was changed to the Central Comets and, in 2011, it was reverted to the Central Queensland Capras. The Australian Rugby League Commission (ARL), formerly the Australian Rugby Football League known as the Australian Rugby League is an Australian rugby league football competition operator. It was founded in 1986 as the Australian Rugby Football League Limited and succeeded the Australian Rugby Football League Board of Control which had been formed in 1924. The Queensland Rugby Football League QRL Constitution, 2009: 3 (QRL QRL Constitution, 2009: 2) is the governing body for rugby league in Queensland. It is a member of the Australian Rugby League Commission (ARL Commission) and selects the members of the Queensland rugby league team.
