''Tanki Online'' (TO) is a browser-based multiplayer free-to-play video game created and published by AlternativaPlatform. It was released on June 4, 2009. A remake of the game named '' Tanki X'' was released on April 20, 2017. History The game was presented in May 2009 at the KRI 2009 conference, where it won "Best Non-Publisher Game" and "Best Technology" awards. "Tanki Online" used the company's own game engine, Alternativa3D. The release took place in the same year. In 2013 and 2014, the project became the winner of the "Runet Prize" in the "Popular Vote" category. It is considered the most popular game of the company, bringing $7 million in annual revenue with 2 million players per month (of which 90% are from Russia). In 2013, the number of registered users in the game reached 20 million, every day there were about 90 000 battles played totaling more than 700 000 game hours, and the maximum number of players online was 60 000. Tanki X
Tanki X was an arcade vehicular combat massively multiplayer online video game. It was created on the Unity engine by , an independent Russia-based game development company. The game used the free-to-play business model, where players could download and play the game for free. However, players could also pay real-world money in the form of micro transactions to get "X Crystals". These X Crystals unlocked special cosmetic features for tanks and blueprint containers which could unlock and upgrade modules. The open beta testing started on September 15, 2016 and the full game was released on Steam on April 20, 2017. The game was shut down at the end of 2019. The Russian Game Developers' Conference (russian: Конференция Разработчиков Игр), or KRI (russian: КРИ, KRI), was an annual event for industry professionals devoted to game development, publishing and distribution in Russia and surrounding territories. Battle City
is a multi-directional shooter video game for the Family Computer produced and published in 1985 by Namco. It is a successor to Namco's 1980 ''Tank Battalion'', and would be succeeded itself by the 1991 ''Tank Force''. An arcade version for the Nintendo VS. System would follow, and the game would eventually end up with the Virtual Console release for the Wii and Wii U. There was also a related Game Boy game of the same name dating back to 1991, which was developed and published by Nova Games.
