Tanja Schärer (born 17 June 1989 in Schlieren) is a Swiss freestyle skier, specializing in aerials . Schärer competed at the 2010 Winter Olympics for Switzerland. She placed 19th in the qualifying round of the aerials, failing to advance to the final. As of April 2013, her best showing at the World Championships is 7th, in 2013. Schärer made her World Cup debut in March 2008. Schlieren ( ; , ) are optical inhomogeneities in transparent media that are not necessarily visible to the human eye. Schlieren physics developed out of the need to produce high-quality lenses devoid of such inhomogeneities. These inhomogeneities are localized differences in optical path length that cause deviations of light rays, especially by refraction. This light deviation can produce localized brightening, darkening, or even color changes in an image, depending on the directions the rays deviate. Bukovel
Bukovel is the largest ski resort in Eastern Europe situated in Ukraine, in Nadvirna Raion, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast (province) of western Ukraine. A part of it is in state property. The resort is located almost on the ridge-lines of the Carpathian Mountains at elevation of above the sea level near the village of Polianytsia (about away).
